  1. It could be $1.5 trillion for a 3km tall chocolate easter bunny and he'd be okay with it. "Everyone loves chocolate, and we're not putting our grandchildren into bigger debt." And then Sinema would vote against it because it's not white chocolate.
  2. My wife got her third shot yesterday (first Pfizer, second and third Moderna) and she's out for the count, and probably will be for two-to-three days. It got to the point last night that she was crying in pain from the muscle soreness all over her body. Her second shot was the same. Glad she'll be better-protected, but her reaction to the vaccine is definitely on the extreme end. Could have something to do with her MS, as well, I know it's caused other people with MS to have pseudo-relapses since it sends the immune system into attack mode (which is what does damage in MS).
  3. Is this something that needs to be seen in a theatre, or is watching at home a decent option?
  4. "I heard those Spanish don't like racism. Racism is one of the platforms of the Republicans, so we can't publicly oppose that," Zuckerberg was heard to say.
  5. The solution is to live in a province that has a working solution. In SK, as fucked as our government is, we have both a printable PDF QR code as well as an actual app. The app displays your code instantly, and the companion app for businesses scans it and displays your full name and vaccination status. Super simple. If you don't want to use the government app you can put the QR code into your Apple or Google wallet.
  6. Basically. They are the leader of the party who wins the provincial election, so aren't directly elected. But they lead the executive. In Canada you will never have the provincial leader be of a different party than the legislature (and there is only a single legislature in each province).
  7. Our ICUs are basically collapsing thanks to our conservative, dumb premier. We're shipping out 2-4 patients per day to other provinces, and now this: Meanwhile, the premier won't bring in new restrictions.
  8. To be fair, look what happened in AB and SK when they went faster...our ICUs are basically collapsing. SK is transferring 2-3 people per day to Ontario's ICUs.
  9. And why was the propmaster not a member of the union? A pre-scab to get around the strike action that was being proposed, and cut costs?
  10. They'll offer customers a $0.10 discount on their items if they accept lead-lined plastic packages instead, and everyone will accept it.
  11. My initial guess would be that it wasn't a single bullet, but some kind of shrapnel that shot out (from something in the barrel that shouldn't have been there).
  12. It's really frustrating that governments don't put out data natively in /100k format, etc. Each day my province (admittedly occupied and run by dumbfucks) puts out stats showing what % of new cases are vaxxed, etc, and it's always in a format like: Unvaxxed - 75% Partially vaxxed - 8% Fully vaxxed - 17% And then all the people who don't understand stats start saying "hur hur, why are the fully vaccinated more likely to catch it than partially vaccinated?" It's because there are like 15x more fully vaxxed than partial! If you break it down per /100k it's like: 85% 10% 5%
  13. I'm sure there's also ways to design a fake gun that could use a battery or a form of stored kinetic energy to pop shell casings out and provide a tiny kick. I mean, heck, I own nerf guns that give a bit of kick when internal mechanisms move after the trigger is pulled.
  14. In the US, all problems can be solved by military action, apparently.
  15. It's horrible. I can't imagine the guilt Baldwin will be feeling (even though he deserves none). It's time to end guns with blanks.
  16. "Advances by the Soviets and Americans threaten to pinch profits and take the shine off gains for German chemical companies from increased gassing of prisoners in the internment camps."
  17. In Alberta, the previous NDP (social democrat) government raised the minimum wage to $15. When the Conservatives won the next election they passed a law saying teenagers could work for much less. Par for the course. And teenagers can't vote.
