VP of Analytics at my current agency once asked if I would be interested in joining his team and when I told him I don’t know SQL he was like, ‘That’s ok, neither did I before this place hired me’ and said that anything I’d need to know could be picked up through LinkedIn learning.

I just accepted a new offer as well; taking a modest pay cut but I get to leave an impossibly fucked situation so it feels pretty good.

I gave this some thought the other day, and I think it is a simple function of desensitization. For example, I came of age during the Forever Wars; for most of my life the Middle East has been embroiled in conflict, whereas conflict in Europe has been comparatively sparse. That doesn’t mean one is more horrifying than the other or deserves more attention, but people will naturally be captivated by stories that are more novel. In the end, the media has done us a disservice by not consciously working against that instinct.

I’m at around 5 months for my booster so hopefully more comes out about it soon…My only real concern is overloading my immune system, which I read is a plausible outcome of receiving too many boosters?

I wouldn't argue that PPP specifically was worth it, just that the general concept of turning on the money machine is what allowed us to ultimately avoid an even bigger catastrophe.

Still worth it. Also, fund the IRS and fuck the ever-living-hell out of these people.
