  1. IMO, no not yet. This show is using quite a bit of lore from all previous SW media, especially from Clone Wars and Rebels. On top of the explicit call-backs to prior shows, there are a lot of non-verbal throwbacks as well. The first two episodes don't do much to bring you up to speed with these characters, because they are calling back to some off-screen character history that took place between shows to give us veteran viewers something to latch onto. But maybe it does some crazy things that don't require all of that history by the end of the run to warrant a watch, and if the rumored upcoming Star Wars films are still a go then Filoni is going to finish off this series with an actual movie.
  2. So far I think I would prefer this show to be animated. The biggest reason being I'm so used to hearing the voice actors for a decade, and they were so good. Filoni also directs these things exactly the same as the series, so we're not experiencing anything unique from the show being live action.
  3. How are they getting triple the fps with just upscaling?
  4. Listen to Linus explain their terrible harassment policy, and get a bonus clue as to who the toxic, abusive manager to Madison was (it's most likely James, the guy who looks like he expects any woman to sleep with him because he wants them to. Fun fact, he's also the head of writing so that explains their terrible apology video):
  5. Jesus, the worst parts, NSFW warning: Why the fuck do they have an OF account? And holy deceptiveness: So this poor girl had to do the job of what they now have multiple people do, do things against her will, and had to put up with contract disputes, sabotage, gaslighting, name-calling, and sexism.
  6. Oh dear, the workplace is toxic and misogynistic behind-the-scenes, apparently from a couple of people in management (not explicitly named). And, of course, Linus operates everything from a completely selfish perspective and will gaslight anyone who even attempts to "tarnish" his brand name. Thread by @suuuoppp on Thread Reader App THREADREADERAPP.COM @suuuoppp: To stop the speculation and DM's I am receiving. I chose to quit my role at LTT because it, and the working environment I was facing, were ruining my mental health. The number of daily items...…
  7. On top of being self-unaware, there's something else seriously wrong with LTT if they misplaced a borrowed 3090 Ti, and when shooting the video they mistook said 3090 Ti for a spare 4090.
  8. The 3DMark CPU score is entirely a multithreaded benchmark. Any multithreaded benchmark is going to draw max power from a CPU, whereas games will only hit a single core hard, other cores less hard, and require less CPU wattage. So if I had to guess, I'd say you're hitting a power limit that's causing your CPU score to be low. Might be able to change the CPU PL (power limit) in the BIOS, but a search led me to a program called "throttlestop" that might unlock more CPU performance for you. SSDs will throttle their speeds the warmer they get, so those scores are close enough to marketed speeds to be fine. Throttling does start around 70 C, and gets worse the hotter it gets.
  9. Amazon app does indeed suck and I have to do that for everything through that platform. However it sounded fine through Plex. Still couldn't understand half of what Hobie said, even with subtitles
  10. Asus did have to recall a bunch of boards for installing a capacitor backwards, that would then blow up.
  11. 10 and 11 can do it. Not sure if you can specifically disable it. AFAIK it should only check on prebuilt OEM systems, but maybe newer retail motherboards can also do it if the vendor sends the information to Microsoft. It's definitely not a good idea, as it definitely seems like an easy target for UEFI malware that you'll never be able to get rid of short of replacing the motherboard.
  12. Windows now has the capability to update the BIOS from Windows Update, although it should only be for prebuilt systems, so it's possible it tried to push one or some other software corrupted it.
  13. This show should have been titled Pointless Exposition. The only growth that happened was between Fury and Varra, and they padded that dynamic by having them repeat the same conversation five different times. Fury's personal journey was unsatisfactorily explored, particularly his "blip" PTSD, because whatever bullshit this show made Fury say goes against a decade of MCU counterpoints, and even contradicts what this series showed us (still on S.W.O.R.D., protecting Earth and helping Skrulls). Fury/Gravik, Fury/Talos, Fury/Rhodes, Talos/G'iah were superficial, wish-washy, unctuous relationships. The entire espionage aspect was also badly (also, barely) executed. Gravik's plan made no sense. It's so hard to be invested in the central conflict (Skrulls have no home) when this series comes after GotG v3, showing us the technology exists to make and re-make an Earth-like planet, not to mention all of the other world-altering abilities shown from Eternals, Dr. Strange, Ego, Kang, etc. The intro was created with AI tools, I wonder if AI also wrote the plot. What comes next? Fury asks Dr. Strange to make everyone forget about Skrulls existing on Earth? Samuel L. Jackson and co. deserve better, because they at least nailed the performances and the charisma was the only good thing about this show.
  14. I'd lower the probability of the last 3 even more. And then the chances these life forms meet each other (us) is even lower than that because the universe is so huge and old.
  15. The ProArt is one of the smaller 4070 Tis, which is why I picked it. I have that case and it's amazing, but things can get tight really quick and I currently have a much smaller GPU in it than the 4070. I actually have your old EVGA 2080 Ti in it. Also why I chose not to squeeze a 240 AIO. You could technically fit one and a big GPU, but be prepared to spend a lot of time running cables and water loops just right. Heck, might even have to order some custom cables anyway, especially for the 12VHPWR connector.
  16. Yes it's worth $550 more than the other version. But none are really worth the asking price relative to everything else out there. You are definitely paying a lot for the small-ish form factor, but you could also build something yourself that's better and smaller and cheaper. PCPartPicker Part List: Just a moment... 17. 4k is just a lot of pixels to render, and the GPU is 99% responsible for this performance attribute. The other 1% can make slight differences on occasion, as you may need a lot of bandwidth from the CPU, PCIE slot, and memory in some games. 1440p is a conundrum because of all the high speed monitors available now, up to 360Hz. If you're trying to maximize fps for Esports titles, CPU will make a difference here. 8 cores is the target right now. There are not many games that benefit beyond 8. You'd only need to spend $700-$800 on a higher core count CPU if you also do some kind of video or 3D work on the side. We have been a luxury state of CPU performance for a while now. Even modest $150 CPUs can give you at minimum 60 fps in every game.
  18. It just occurred to me there have been reports of 4000 cards dying because of GPU sag (from the huge heatsinks) causing stress near the PCIE x16 connector and breaking PCB circuits. Did you happen to use a GPU support bracket?
  19. The bursts of loudness (which usually was just the bass) were so annoying I settled the issue by lowering the volume and turning on subtitles.
  20. Did you try leaving the RAM at stock 4800 MHz, no EXPO settings?
