  1. Statistically, it really is!
  2. Today, we are all now anti-vaxxers! Uniting America with just one shot!
  3. I would have approached you about this fact sooner, but in our previous life you ate the last of my M&M's in that hotel room in Prague and well, I'm still smarting about it!
  4. Though it seems as if I am incapable of learning, I learn just a little from my adventures in 4K and those lessons are: 1.) Let them fight (standards wars every generation) 2.) Take a breath between display generations, let the tech mature 3.) My price point entry is 3,000 for a 65" TV, I don't need or want a bigger screen I think 4K@120 will beat the experience of 8K@60, currently. In a few years the tech will have matured enough to bite. I do not use a TV like a traditional monitor, as I sit about 6 feet from my 4K OLED with a typical living room setup. PC gamers that game at a desk will seem much more benefit from 8K than myself. VR will also benefit from this bump. As much as I am willing to spend on tech, I like to see results for my money.
  5. The honor of scraps this time goes to my son who is turning 8 shortly!
  6. I get the point of this story, but can we roll back to someone actually winking at Sarah woodchuckabee Sanders? I don't believe it. Proof, or it didn't happen!
  7. No doubt that's true, with their existing ecosystem of games.trophies/achievements, and friend groups. That said, I think the point is that cheaper PCs and Sony exclusives can only mean more PC gamers.
  8. I get the feeling that this generation might be a good one for PC as Sony brings more titles to the platform and the cost of entry declines more and more. A smart shopper (read: not me! ) could really clean up this generation. By this time next year, the entry level GPUs and CPUs available on the market will easily outpace both new consoles as ridiculously low prices. Nvidia has now put a ceiling on AMDs GPU cost line that will likely see a 200.00 card that is better than the GPU in the Xbox Series X! That is crazy! Add in basically ANY zen 2 cpu a cheap ass stick of RAM and mobo and you'll be set. I know there are other parts, but again, cheap ones!
  9. With one child's birthday just around the corner, another child looking at colleges, and my wife out of work at present, I certainly have less than I usually do! But I still have nothing to complain about! I am a thankful man, living a thankful life!
  10. I think the cost comes down to how large the SSDs are, though I agree that even those prices are falling pretty quickly.
  11. Its a truly beastly showing for Nvidia, an provided they can actually stock the damn things, they have left very little on the table for AMD and intel to provide a compelling alternative. Let's hope this isn't a paper launch!
  12. Correct! Despite all the fanfare, intel's top end CPUs are still the kings of PC gaming. Do they make financial sense? No! Do they have the latest features like PCIe4.0? Hell no! But despite those facts, I would put my i9-9900KS up against any AMD CPU, in terms of gaming experience. Now where it gets interesting is that as resolutions climb up the CPU is taxed less, so there is little to no difference between most high end CPUs at 4K. Sooo, I might well finally jump ship from intel with the arrival of AMDs next generation of Ryzen chips simply because of cost and PCIe4.0. Its a wacky world of change in the PC hardware landscape and its unlikely to stabilize as an easy hardware target until mid to late 2022. This is because we will have a growing need for PCIe4.0 as SSDs continue to climb in speed (and thus bandwidth), GPUs continue to raise the level of bandwidth they need. Then you have the arrival of DDR5 sometime next year. Driving all of this will be new engines like UE5 (not due, despite all the PS5 hype, until late 2021!) and features like Nvidia's RTX I/O & Microsoft's "Direct Storage" API.
  13. I currently have an i9-9900KS and will be sitting on it until we see the next Ryzen chips drop later this year. I really hope these next AMD CPUs put the nail in intel's coffin because I want this build to be more or less complete prior to Cyberpunk's release! All Hail Cyberpunk. Cyberpunk, that is all.
  14. I honestly don't know! I suppose it would make a good folding @ home system when I'm not gaming!
  15. The case above (Lian Li PC-011D XL) just arrived yesterday along with a 1000 watt PSU. The new build begins...
  16. You will only score sub 600.00 offers on your 2080ti as everyone is doing the same thing and the market for sales will be flooded over the next few months. As for the VRAM, I doubt it will be the issue people are making it out to be.
