SoberChef Posted July 16, 2019 Share Posted July 16, 2019 Lionsgate and Saban Films are unleashing 3 From Hell in nearly 900 select movie theaters on September 16, 17 and 18, 2019 3 from Hell takes place directly after the events of The Devil’s Rejects, with Otis, Baby and Spaulding somehow managing to survive a hail of bullets. Their “satanic recovery” leads to them being locked up in prison, and an inevitable escape again unleashes the trio – or at least Otis and Baby, joined by Richard Brake‘s new character Foxy – upon the world. In addition to the returning Sheri Moon Zombie, Bill Moseley and Sid Haig, the cast also includes Danny Trejo, Kevin Jackson, Wade Williams, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Clint Howard, Pancho Moler, Emilio Rivera, Daniel Roebuck, David Ury, Sean Whalen, Austin Stoker, Dee Wallace, Richard Brake, Bill Oberst Jr., Richard Riehle, Dot-Marie Jones and Tom Papa. I thought that ending was specifically cool because they clearly fucking died together in a last moment of defiance essentially. It's like he's purposely shitting on his entire filmography's best moment. @Greatoneshere I've unfortunately wasted about half an hour on The Lords of Salem and about an hour on his Halloween remake. Both were utter dog shit. His Halloween especially was tasteless, arrogant nonsense. 69los Posted July 17, 2019 Share Posted July 17, 2019 His 1st Halloween movie reminds me of The Killing Joke. A backstory that no one asked for followed by something we were all familiar with. The sequel was trash. He found any means possible to shoehorn his wife into a movie she had no business being in. I strongly dislike his Halloween movies and stopped watching his movies after part 2. He seems to cast his wife in a lot of shit and she's just not that good of an actress. All of his films feel the same, regardless of the content. Halloween is supposed to be a sort of creepy stalker boogeyman tone, but his versions are just gore porn slashers. Halloween 2 was utter trash. I can’t remember a single thing about it other than hating it lol. Lords of Salem I thought was ok. Bloodporne Posted July 18, 2019 Share Posted July 18, 2019 The way I see the original Halloween is more like a then-modern, suburban take on Mario Bava style gothic horror. I see a lot of that style of cinematography and eerie lighting in it, the movie lives on those aspects. Rob Zombie's idiotic "everything I touch must be a White Zombie video redux" aesthetic is the complete opposite. But once they got underground it just got kinda nonsensical and too weird. But as a whole it was different and entertaining which I value a lot in horror with so much cookie cutter stuff out there.
