I think I prefer indie games

Probably kind of unrelated but I will say that SOMA was a standout game for me this gen and on paper it's every indie cliche I hate.

That reminds me of Dead Cells. Not so much the "hate" part, but I played a ton of roguelikes, especially on PS+ in the early days, and I always hated losing everything when I died and all the randomly generated levels instead of a level that's meticulously crafted. I played stuff like Rogue Legacy and Binding of Isaac, had fun, and then never really had to return because, "Different every playthrough!" just means, "Everything's random," and that's not enticing to me.

Yet the combination of the fun gameplay, having permanent upgrades you can earn through each run, and the fun weapons made it work. I feel like I should go back and try Spelunky to see if I can get into it because I dropped that game quickly at the time.

Problem with me is I have pretty limited time at this point to really sink into games so if I've played say 10 of a certain type of game over the years and I only liked 1 or 2, I'm not going for more. I'll definitely declare that genre to be lame for my tastes and I'm good.

SOMA was definitely the exception to the rule because any other game I've ever played that's story-focused and has barely-existent gameplay has sucked huge amounts of ass.

Indeed. That's actually what makes this so complicated for me: I'd love to play an indie roguelike that is as much fun for me as Dead Cells, but I'd probaby have to spend time playing a lot of games that don't do it for me to get there, so there's a good chance I'll either miss out or be way LTTP. :p

I haven't played most of those games but I could tell you that

The first one is, don't know, Last Guardian, Gravity Rush 2, Gran Turismo, Resogun, Bloodborne, Bound, Ratchet and Clank, MLB the show, Astro bot, Tearaway, Until dawn and Hot Shots Golf.

Dreams is the first one.

I thought it might be. I wanted to say Little Big Planet really badly which was made by them anyway, so partial credit. Also, unfair to include unreleased games in your meme! :shameonyou:

It's early accessed, so it's kinda-sorta released in this 2010s world of ours. :talkhand:

Tearaway, that's the one I thought I recognized but couldn't remember. I tried it on Vita years ago, but it just didn't do anything for me. I guess it didn't do much for Sony, either, because we've never seen another. :p

Not counting Tearaway Unfolded on the PS4?

It's a remake, they aren't quite the same.

You said "We've never seen another" but it counts as another.

I mean, a port/sorta remake isn't exactly "another." At least I've never viewed it that way. It's essentially the same game with a few additions on a different system. Count it how you want, but I don't really.

From what I've heard, it's quite a different experience on the PS4 than the Vita.

I never played the PS4 version, but I seem to remember that they added a significant amount of content to it.

I could never get into the original game on Vita.  It felt too much like a way of using all of the gimmicky controls on that platform.

It was one of those games people raved about and I felt I should have liked it but it was like I kept forcing myself to play it before I realized it just wasn't for me. Some neat concepts, but at the end of the day I was pretty

Little Big Planet had the same effect on me. Has there been one of those released on PS4?

Not really? You're just being a little off and I don't get it.

I'm working tonight, so I've slept most of the day. Good sleep, too.

Every time someone has a bitch fit in a thread, they insist they had a great day/good sleep/great sex.

You just got offended that I explained to you why you haven't heard from a game series in a while; don't be telling me everything's great.

But I'm not having a bitch fit? I don't know what your standards are, but this doesn't come close to the realm of a fit. I'm not offended and I'm pretty chill right now.

You do this a lot. Someone doesn't jive with your posts and you assume something is wrong and make assumptions about their personal lives and try to laugh it off like you're not being really serious, but you are. It's sorta passive-aggressive. I mean, I like you and all, but it's a pattern.

Your reaction to why you haven't heard of LBP in years followed by your psych diagnosis are things a chill person does after a good day's rest.

What? You were the one attempting to diagnose me.

Sometimes a post is just a post. You don't have to read into it or make assumptions about someone's personal life that has nothing to do with a video game.

To be honest, I missed the Dreams mention  when I first read your post so I just saw Tearaway and was like "um okay" as in Tearaway was several years ago so that doesn't explain it.

That's really all it is. No need to make assumptions or try to psychoanalyze me, man.

"You had a bad day," isn't a diagnosis. "You have this pattern where you..." and analyzing my patterns and behaviors are.

Your post just needed to say the bold.

Okay, but I didn't even notice I missed it until that post or obviously I would have mentioned it earlier. I was just going back looking for something because I'm like wtf.

It's just noticing a pattern in your posting, that's not a diagnosis. It does get a little offensive when you frequently make assumptions about someone's personal life based on a simple exchange. Because even still, nothing about my post suggested I was having a fit.
