cusideabelincoln
I don't know if the deal is still going on, but Newgg had a combo deal for similar mobo, RAM, and CPU for like $50 off on Saturday.
cusideabelincoln
Yeah on Newegg's 7800x3d page just scroll down to the combo up section. Build & Save with AMD Bundle Combos | Newegg 7800x3D + Asus Tuf Gaming X670E-Plus Wifi + G.Skill Flare X5 will save you $60. Motherboard is better, RAM is slightly worse. You could use the savings to pick up a 4TB drive, some decent ones are around $200 right now.
Spork3245
That m.2 is great, but the WD SN850x is just as good and currently cheaper
Nokra
You should go Intel, purely because it helps me out.

AbsolutSurgen
How often do people really upgrade their CPU and keep their existing MB?

It depends on the performance increase, but for AM4 a lot of people, and several here did it with Intel 12th gen to 13th gen due to the bump in performance. Personally I've taken advantage of AMD's in-socket upgrade paths every time I've used their platforms.

My upgrades tend to be every five years or more, so changing sockets doesn't bother me since the rest of the tech has probably also advanced enough for it to be worth it.
