Right, but not all ultrawide monitors are curved. 

 

It's like when you see those 65" curved TVs and I'm like... there's no fucking way you are sitting close enough to that thing to make any difference at all. In fact, it would make the viewing experience worse. Maybe monitors that you're sitting 2 feet away from is different, though.

With Ultrawide, much of the monitor is in your peripheral vision, having it curved helps with that. The immersion really comes with filling up your field of view. 
 

I don’t think I would buy a curved TV, but I don’t think I would ever buy a 16:9 monitor again.
