I actually don’t know what their process was beyond the actual funeral stuff. It’s a group of primarily left wing Catholics. Do Catholics have special burial rules?

Nothing that would explain keeping a body around for an extended period of time, no.

I might be out of line here but I think it’s possible they don’t really have a legitimate sane reason for keeping a bunch of old fetuses at home.

I don’t think they typically do, I think it was just one member of the group who did. I mean, despite my own views on abortion I don’t find it at all reasonable to do these “rescue” missions for the remains in the first place

Yeah, it's not "typically" inappropriate to have a hoard of dead fetuses lying around, it's always inappropriate.
