Jason Posted February 23, 2022 Posted February 23, 2022 I'm mostly posting this because this post in the comments had me fucking dying. Quote It is my dream to have a car auto-drive me down a highway while I am in the front seat, driving down the very same highway in American Truck Simulator on the car's screen. Musk says he wants to install Steam games in Tesla infotainment centers ARSTECHNICA.COM Expansive gaming platform could be a good use for powerful cars' AMD GPUs. Quote
silentbob Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 So would the computer get its own screen(s) and huge battery of its own for gaming? Pretty sure he means he wants steamdeck like graphic quality and he could give free starlink wifi with all Tesla vehicles. Quote
Air_Delivery Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Call me old fashion but the whole one giant screen with no physical dials and buttons is for the birds. I don't wanna watch TV while driving just tell me what speed im going. Quote

I have a 2015 Civic and it's a perfectly fine car, except that the only volume controls are a rocker on the steering wheel or hitting down on the touch screen, and they both work way slower than turning a knob would be, and it's impossible to just outright mute something immediately. Air_Delivery Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 I have a 2013 Nissian Frontier and its perfect. A small color LED screen for showing the radio station/song playing, time and settings. Everything else is physical. I don't want or need a giant ass led. My car isn't a phone. Quote
Kal-El814 Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Maybe work on having the cars not be break traffic laws first you absolute fucking chode gobbler. 2 Quote
Keyser_Soze Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Figured he'd be an EGS kind of guy. But I guess it sucks to much to run on a Tesla. Quote

The video games are obviously to distract you from noticing the car just went full GTA 6-star wanted level on a bunch of pedestrians. Quote
LazyPiranha Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 So the company that got caught ripping microchips out of the steering system to try and make up for shortages wants their cars to have increased processing power to play video games. Good plan. Quote
