  1. Atonement is just not speaking to me. I just can’t find the magic despite it actually featuring aspects of literature I enjoy. I’ve ended up buying a book called The Chalk Man which reviewed well on the cover but at roughly the half way point, it isn’t blowing my mind. Next book just needs to be a solid 10/10
  2. Deadpool 2: After the first 20 minutes, I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this (after finding the first simply lovely) but then it pulled it all around a bit more towards the end. It's a shame the Juggernaut was used for pretty much nothing bar a leg gag (considering the hype within the movie) and some of the humour was forced. It was nice to see a slightly more touching approach to superhero immortality.
  3. I was talking to my partner about how we should have a 1940's level of poster/propaganda for people to maintain their own hives, or at the least buy 'bee boxes' and where possible have insect encouraging plants outside.
  4. A few weeks away. I'll post a little review and any tears of happiness that fall from my eyes.
  5. Of all tuings, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. I’ll proba delete it tomorrow but it was a pleasant 2 hours.
  6. Spiderman would be my current choice of game. Or buy a Switch and Mario...that would be a lovely birthday treat.
  7. I'm glad that we have an indie scene. Even if it's just to create a game that a larger developer later rips off to make their series better. I think it's fair to say, as gamers we are in a very fortunate time for the activity, devs on the other hand, much less so.
  8. I'm always surprised by my post count, typically thousands higher than I remember posting.
  9. Wanking is most definitely masturbste firsr, definition for prick-esque person second.
  10. At this time of the year, I’m more of a tea man though enjoy the odd coffee (origins of which I’m not fussy)
  11. I've just got into the world of podcasts with some pleasantly tentative steps. Namely, No Such thing as a Fish and everyone's favourite Giant Bombcast. I have a few others like Caliphate, Guardian Science Show, but I just want pleasant fun rather than intense life lessons.
  12. More something I thought I would share, but i'm going to live my 9 year old self's dream and meet Mick Foley on the 29th of November in Bristol, UK. Genuinely can't wait, with Have a Nice Day being one of the first larger books I'd ever read, which I'll ask to have signed (along with a good old picture). Has anyone else ever been to one of his shows? I know if given the chance, I'd also be keen to see Chris Jericho.
  13. I'm not going to get excited, although I do like the little build up and the fun of watching/playing 'scary' things. It's not really a massive thing in the UK but I'll make sure to have some sweet in.
  14. I ate a cheese sandwich for my dinner so I can shame all of you no-good-nicks. Tomorrow. aubergine, pepper and onion Fajita's.
  15. Both are fine with me. I really enjoyed Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture a few years ago and I’ve just remembered we do have The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. But please recommend away!
  16. No, unless we add in one or two games that have an online multiplayer component. If I have several single player games on the go, I tend to just neglect one and then never return (here's looking at you, Pikmin 3).
  17. I think I've hit that tipping point again where I can't really focus on playing a long, focused single player experience. The last time this happened, it was followed by a lot of reading, a lot of movie watching and an abandonment of gaming for about 3 months until I played Journey in one sitting. Just to preempt this, I would love to hear some suggestions for shorter gaming experiences. At my disposal are a PS4, PS3, 360 and a Wii U, so hopefully a fair spread of games available. Currently, I'm eyeing up the likes of Inside, Undertale and Pyre, but I'd love to hear about pretty much any worth while games of a shorter length (or pick up and play in nature, in the vain of say Peggle) that I can dip in and out of whilst I've got my lovely 53 hour weeks. Cheers chums.
  18. @Nokra just because of the revelation about the Kingkiller Chronicles third entry. The fact that the second entry appeared in 2011 and there isn't a release date for the third yet is quite disappointing, though in the grand scheme it's not quite as bad as Game of Thrones...
  19. Sadly my 5 year old laptop isn't up to running this so now crossing my fingers for a console release, or just to have a spare £600 for a PC and monitor.
  20. Like most, gone are the days I would look through a review. I'll watch the odd video review, mostly to see highlighted positives/negatives of gameplay but round table discussions and impressions are the new metric.
  21. I've stopped eating meat (at least until next March) and there after, will only be when eating out or for a special occasion. I should look at either only drinking organic milk or moving to a replacement soon, though in the UK when it comes to eggs and dairy, we do offer a good quality of life for the animals involved.
  22. In my sorrow, now reading Atonement (we've had it for years, but I've never bothered). So far it's...OK. I also have 12 Years a Slave which I picked up from a charity shop for the princely sum of 50p. I may also buy a few Discworld books on Friday as it's been a while and Mort will be good.
  23. They’re on a life path which means they’re perpetually shit on from a great height.
