  1. good thing they introduced gameplay with another, even more fun character to play who has a whole huge gap in her history to fill in
  2. Yes. The Last Jedi is objectively an extremely well made and excellent film. Also it’s odd that you criticize TLJ for not being fun yet list Empire as your favorite film. A film that is also decidedly “not fun” in tone.
  3. Lowkey I LOVED that Driver played Ben as a more human, more vulnerable version of himself than Kylo was. It was so small and subtle but so effective. I watched TLJ again last night and jesus f’ing Christ it pissed me off even more than I already was about the way Driver wasn’t used. No one, not a single other actor in the entire SW universe has ever delivered the way he did in TLJ.
  4. The first two games are pretty same. Geralt has amnesia so they kinda act as their own short stories. They don’t really play into the main narrative. 3 picks up where the novels leave off (so I’m told) and acts as an end to the story. Personally I don’t think it ruins the show. If anything it’ll give you a greater appreciation for the job Cavill is doing. I mean obviously it’ll give you a window into where all the characters end up but to me it’s just enhanced the show.
  5. Damn, lotta dudes getting real sensitive and all up in their feels in this thread.
  6. Agreed. But to me it wasn’t even that emotional, it could have been. They could have take another minute or two to really build the tension. But instead it resulted in something that was surprising for sure but lacked the real emotional punch that potentially killing a main character should have. Which kinda sums up the whole movie for me
  7. There was emotion in RoS? Where? I didn’t take any bathroom breaks(I should have) so I dont think I missed it. I felt more emotion in a 15 minute episode of Bluey my kid watched this morning than the entirety of the 2 1/2 hour, 9 movie culminating train wreck that was RoS.
  8. I doubled dipped. Played and beat Witcher 3 on my Xbox when it came out. Just rebought the Complete edition. Can’t wait to run through it again. Still going #teamyen on this play through though
  9. same. I honestly never really want to see Bobba Fett again. I don’t need more of his character fleshed out. What we got in the OT is fine. Leave him alone.
  10. IGN stays trash. That list is stupid and clearly generated for the sole purpose of simply being able to state the obvious about Rise of Skywalker. What would have been a much interesting article to tackle...the apparent difficulty of closing out a trilogy given that their are generally more poor conclusions then great ones and why that is. But stay grabbing the low hanging fruit IGN.
  11. I read everyone says The Last Wish as well. Which was published after the original 8 books I believe? I’m halfway through Last Wish and it seems like a good introduction 🤷🏻‍♂️
  12. Yeah that’s how I force myself to explain it. But I think it was pretty clear his intention at the time was that Lea’s mother died when she was like 3/4. Not immediately at child birth. Died of a broken heart. That shit still pisses me off.
  13. @Bacon can you throw that in spoiler tags. It hasn’t even been 24 hours.
  14. I wasn’t a fan but I wouldn’t go that far. I think everything about the Emperor at the end was pretty memorable. So was everything leading up to the Rey/Ben tug of war. Now you wanna talk about unmemorable? Let’s talk about the ENTIRE Marvel catalog.
  15. Lucas blatantly ignored a bunch of shit from the OT. Luke: “I have no memory of my mother” Lea: “I remember her and she was beautiful” or something like that. Then Lucas kills off Padme during child birth. K.
  16. To be fair I believe there’s a line in ANH that talks about Luke flying around for fun on Tatoinee. Doesn’t the shooting wamp rats conversation also include being able to pilot through a canyon really well? I could be remembering that from some Star Wars PC game I played when I was kid though 😂 but in all seriousness. Anakin was able to be a pod racer because of his extreme sensitivity to the force enabled him to see a few seconds into the future or something. Giving him reflexes no other human possessed. Logically Rey and Luke would have had those same reflexes which would have translated into their ability to be great pilots.
  17. I thought I read Sword of Destiny, while chronologically earlier, should be read after the main 5 book saga because it will make more sense. Or am I thinking of the wrong book.
  18. And after a decade, the Game of Thrones theme has been replaced as my ringtone. Started reading The Last Wish yesterday. Really really enjoyable. I love how they tie him in loosely to other fairy tales. That was completely unexpected and executed really well. After I finish I’m gonna go back and rewatch the show. Also restarted Witcher 3(never did the DLC). I never forgot how good it was. It’s one of my top 3 games of all time. But I kinda forgot just HOW GOOD the smaller details in the game are. The way all the side quests kinda seamlessly flow together and back into the main narrative. I haven’t been this into a “world” since I consumed everything that had to do with the Dead Space universe. Before EA fucking ruined everything with DS2. This is gonna be a long ass wait for season 2.
  19. yeah I know what power creep means. It’s the same thing as progression only with a negative connotation instead of positive. The powers have been creeping upwards since 1977
  20. you mean like how every force user gets more and more powerful in the OT? Culminating in the final force user being the MOST powerful. Also we had literally just watched him suck life essence(power) from two extremely strong force users making him even stronger than he was before. A pretty common fantasy trope.
  21. Wait, wait, wait...I’ve seen this referenced a few times. Do people think Palpatine was force pulling the Rebel Fleet out of the sky? Cause that’s not at all what was happening in that scene. He was using his force lightning on a massive scale to disable the ships and as a result gravity was pulling them down.
