I picked up a couple of cheap games for my son for xmas: Star Wars Squadrons Marvel Avengers Tony Hawk PS 1+2 WWE 2K Battle Grounds I think all 4 games were only 85 bux. For myself I got Control Ultimate Edition and Ghost of Tsushima

I’m a bit hard of hearing, so I went through almost a dozen headsets on my X1X to find one that was truly wireless and pre-amped in some fashion. I finally settled on a set of Lucidsound LS35x. They are amazing and I actually have to turn the volume down from full instead of cranking it to max. for PS4 I used the Gold headset and thought they were great for the price. I am giving them to my son when my ps5 comes in and bought a pair of the new pulse 3D for me.

Speaking of... I had successfully placed my order at BJs at like 2:30am Monday. By 4:30pm it was marked as shipped and a tracking number generated. Since then, there has been zero progress. I called BJs and they said the MA distribution center where this is coming from is really behind with UPS and will be going out at some point this week (this was Wednesday). So far still no moment. The only saving grace is I’m not the only one. It appears everyone who ordered from BJs is in the same boat. I dunno, doesn’t seem right to me and feels like they are going to wind up cancelling.

Pre-patch cut scenes had awful screen tearing for me. Post-patch quality mode I’m not getting any at all.

What do you find weird about it? the lighting is so much better now. I’m trying the quality mode for a bit then I’m going to switch to performance. I’m not sure if these existed in performance - but two things I noticed - leaves falling off trees and eivors gear looking soaking wet when getting out of the water.

So the XSX currently runs at 4K/60 and now they are putting in an option for quality - 4K/30 or performance -4K/60 So they are going to turn on more bells and whistles fie quality mode?

I've been absolutely hooked on this album since it dropped: GISM reissued their first album. So good. been on heavy rotation Ive been re-listening to this since the new album is dropping soon. so chaotic. cant wait for the new album and the new Flaming Lips album is really good.. but this particular song is absolutely amazing

I found the gameplay decent, although at least in the first one - the way the clickers didn’t react to Ellie was very immersion breaking. But it was forgivable IMO bc the story was very compelling and the environments were top notch. I never put it on a pedestal as others around here have, but it’s a sold 8.5 game to me.

absolutely. I made mention of it a page back or so. There is definitely something off with the lighting in this game. It goes from blindingly bright to washed out grayish in color in literally 2 steps sometimes.

I’ve already played through the campaign - it’s extremely short, maybe 4-5hrs. But there’s multiple endings and overall it’s really fun. The ending is kinda nuts. I’ll definitely have to replay at least the last 2 missions to try out some different choices and see what happens. It also looks great on XSX. As for the MP, I feel like this game is a step back in every direction from MW19, except maybe the sound. It’s like a cheap knockoff version of MW19. The graphics, the menus, the upgrades/loadouts, the movement, it’s all inferior and feels cheap and unpolished. Let alone the fact that there’s barely any modes and season 1 doesn’t officially begin until December sometime. However - the dirty Bomb mode is pretty awesome. It’s like a mini warzone mode where you can respawn and keep playing. I almost wish they would do this mode in MW19.

If I have a ps4 gold headset is there a reason for me to upgrade to the pulse 3D?

bummer. definitely not going to play this then if i have to go all the way back to very beginning of a level and clear it all just to try the boss again. thats always been a turnoff for me with the souls games is the repetitiveness of having to redo levels over and over until its so routine, its just boring. its 2 step forward, 10 steps back - over and over and over again. its just exhausting and loses its fun for me rather quick. if they placed bonfires/lanterns right in front of a boss fight - i could enjoy them more. i do like the challenge, but i hate the death penalties.

The Cold War campaign with ray tracing looks incredible. I’m a believer!

Not me. And this literally replaced the X1X, using the exact same Ethernet cable. It’s awful. No way am I playing anything tonight if I want to be able to play Cold War anytime soon.
