  1. So Omicron is pretty apparently all over southern Africa and by consequence is already worldwide.
  2. Precisely. He did all of this himself and is solely responsible for being this much of a mush brain that it got him into this situation.
  3. Well, it finally happened. A relative has fallen to Q over the vaccines and covid. So this is fairly distant, but I see them every Thanksgiving and Christmas. My cousin on my dad's side married this guy. I'm not super close with him, but he's always been generally pretty jovial and okay to cut up with at the holiday gatherings. He's always been right wing--his son's a cop, he was big into Trump. But that was fine. We could spar with one another here and there and leave it with a "but whatever" and be fine to move on. Last year, our thanksgiving and christmas gatherings (which usually had 20+ people at them) were cancelled for safety reasons. We started back this year since everyone (minus this guy) was vaccinated. He gets there and I find him. He's sitting in a room by himself watching football, brooding. I strike up some small talk because I know he liked to mix it up in the past and he's always outspoken. So I talk about my work's vaccine mandate. He says a couple of dismissive things and then says "but I'm on a short leash, so I can't talk much." The look on his face is really pained in that it looks like he wants to go off. He doesn't get in line when food's ready. He doesn't eat with us. After the meal, when we're all milling around, he's nowhere to be found. As I was leaving, I catch a glimpse of him and the rest of his family leaving in their car. He sat in his car the entire time alone. I talked with my hillbilly uncle and he was like "oh yeah, he's into that Q stuff. It made him angry at the world. He lost a few friends over it and might even quit his job." He makes $26/hr driving dump trucks. That's damn good money here. He's always been big on talk, and that might just be all talk... but with Q, you never know. And if it came to that, his wife--my cousin--might decide that's the last straw. I wish I knew more. What got to him, if it's actually Qanon stuff, or just run of the mill (lol) right wing stuff on facebook It's no one I'm really mourning over losing. I see him twice a year and have only really done that in the last 5-6 years. I didn't grow up with him or anything. But the drastic change from 2019 to now is stark. I just feel bad for everyone in his life that was more close to him or that had to deal with him in the day to day over the last two years. Facebook, Q, OANN, and all that garbage got to him.
  4. There might not be such a thing as a truly good corporation, but there are definitely companies that are run in such a way that they can do as little harm to as few people as possible. Hats off to them.
  5. This entire thread isn't totally related to cars, but more pollution in general. It's... bleak... Some choice bleakness:
  6. Oh... OH... HAHAHAHAHAHA Damn. Talk about fixed elections! EDIT: And of course Gorka jumps in and 'offahs to ahm wrestle him on youah behaaaf.' God, he's funny.
  7. So update on my booster: The first day, I had muscle aches and fatigue. Went to bed that night and the aches intensified but subsided the next day. The second day, I had fewer aches (still some joint pain), but more fatigue. Starting last night and into today, the third day, the lymph node under my left arm (the arm I got the booster in) is swollen and tender. It's still not that big a deal and everything I'm experiencing is proof this thing is working. But it's markedly different than how the 2nd shot hit me, which was aches and fatigue for about a day or two, and that was it. I would very much like for my lymph node to not be so tender though.
  8. Jesus Christ, he's going to be even MORE insufferable now. In 10 years, he'll be given Bret Stephens' column.
  9. I used my Saturday morning to: Finish the Portland missions and advance to Staunton Island Find all (but one) hidden packages on Staunton Glitch my way to Shoreside Vale Make sure the Purple Nines are there so I can finish 100% Find all (but one) hidden packages on Shoreside Now I have every weapon in my hideouts except the rocket launcher (100/100 packages) and the flamethrower (need to do Firetruck missions).
  10. lol No one should have expected anything else. This country fucking sucks.
  11. Diamond Joe is back behind the wheel, peeling out and laying down rubber for America.
  12. In continuing my playthrough of GTA3, I had forgotten some of the little difficulties that come about with doing side missions. I'm still in Portland and just unlocked Don Salvatore's missions. This means that the Triads now hate me... That made El Burro's pay phone missions a little more difficult. Same for the Ambulance missions where you have to pick up patients. I chose to do those last night while ONLY the Triads hate me instead of them AND the Mafia with their shotguns. In GTA3, if you don't recall, the ambulance missions requires you to successfully complete Level 12 to get some powerups at your hideout and count towards 100%. They're easiest in Portland since it's a little smaller and laid out in a nice grid. Well, it took me over an hour last night, but I did it. Got it out of the way early. What I did back when I was 14 was I used the health cheat to restore my ambulance's health (no shame). The issue I discovered in the Definitive Edition is that with the modern controller layout, the health cheat uses one of the buttons that toggles the missions on/off. So the first time I used it, I ended the mission. PRO TIP: If you decide to use cheats during these Ambulance/Vigilante/Taxi/Firefighter missions, change your control layout to Classic or whatever it is where X is accelerate and Square is brake. That'll free up the D-pad for your health cheat and move the mission toggle from Up to R3. It's slightly frustrating it doesn't have an option to allow me to remap individual buttons, but I made it work. At least the ambulance missions are done and out of the way. That said, it's a joy to revisit this game in HD with better controls. But the rain effect does blow dicks.
  13. Not gonna lie, I am really looking forward to the procedural stuff that comes out after QE2's death. It just seems like such a big, monumental event for such a small, unimportant country, that I'm eager to experience it!
