  1. Make sure to vote, half the polls here have more people responding in the thread than answering the polls. It's throwing off my scientific research when I do this.
  2. Thing is, in my opinion, they legitimately could do better and it wouldn't matter. People love the original trilogy too much, they'd almost never accept a new one regardless of quality. I think the only time a remake could ever work, at minimum, is when all of us that grew up with the original are 70 or 80, and the younger audiences don't have the emotional attachment to the movies that we do.
  3. Stop abortions and give those babies guns fresh out of the womb. That's how we're going to stop gun violence by rising up as a nation to elect a president for life that knows how to get the job done and make America white again. God bless the US of A.
  4. I'm on the editorial board, and I'm a rabid Q-anon supporter. If that helps.
  5. Glad I popped into this thread, despite my better judgment. How in the Nine Hells has @Demut devolved the conversation into 'But age is just a numberšŸ˜' in the creepiest way possible. Jesus H Christ, there's nobody I want around kids less than people that try and defend JK being a massive bigot. Like I've reread the thread several times and I still can't figure out how @Demut switched the conversation, however 'jokingly', to talking about 'But what really is a consensual age'. Absolutely nothing in this thread necessitated the conversation being steered in that direction, and yet here we are.
  6. The larger headline is it's been 12 years since he left Capcom. Jesus Christ I'm getting old.
  7. It works great. According to my new CV I'm the first man to have walked on the moon, was the mayor of my hometown for two terms, and had a lucrative luchador career.
  8. Only thing that would have made it more perfect is if there was a gator found in the bathroom as well.
  9. We good, it's out of my system. I generally have no need to concern myself about people who intentionally hold peabrained opinions and think they're cool for it.
  10. This seems to be the common experience. I think we all just collectively fever dreamed it, which is why.
  11. Sounds like someone is a colors person.
  12. It's too early for me to be having such a random flashback to the past. Please delete and remind me of the colors or God in roughly 5-6 hours.
  13. Since this is clearly expressed at me, can I ask you to parse some of this? 1) You start off by pointing out she wrote a popular children's book series. Are you suggesting that popularity equals morality? 2) You go on to mention the game. Are you suggesting the popularity of a game based on this franchise creates morality? Or that I, the person you're talking about, am happy about seeing people on this board ignoring the problems of JK in order to purchase this game day 1? 3) I'm just gonna say, you missed the point of my posting about Manson, Epstein, etc. didn't you? I'll just be blunt, the point was that philanthropy does not automatically absolve one of their harms to society. But I feel like you know that considering you have nothing to say about someone else saying nothing more than 'LMAO' linked to JK's Wikipedia page as a defense of her harm to society. 4) Literally no one has said she deserves to die. No one is wishing for her death. Recognizing that death, a thing that literally happens to everyone, would end a major source of harm in the world is not wishing someone would die. Death comes for everyone, and society for millions of years has only advanced due to the old dying off. That's literally how progress is made, for better or worse. Just 100 years ago those in charge of the world would have burned everything to the ground at the sight of an iPhone and central heating. Literally everyone dies, and that's a good thing. You'll die, I'll die, maybe SFLUFAN won't, but the rest of us will.
  14. Yes, you know, just how water is poisonous by this standard. You can overdose on water. Ya know, the thing we need to live. I'm not missing it. Let me stop being coy about it. You don't consider trans people are people. You think the fact that the only openly trans person in the HP universe is named Sirona Ryan is hilarious(And in case you try and say otherwise, I saw you respond over her name in the HW mega thread). It's easy to think someone isn't causing harm to society when you don't view their victims as a part of society. I assure you, I missed zero trees for the forest. Please provide me a source in which JK has saved the lives of billions of people while harming a single person. We can continue the discussion of this statement once you have provided that. It does not. You are using an extreme example of '1 billion lives saved to a snatched purse' to prove your point that someone hurting tens of millions of people is no big deal. All the while ignoring that the philanthropy of millionaires does not inherently absolve them of their crimes. Unless you want to say outright that Bin Laden, Epstein, Maxwell, and others were a net positive to society due to their philanthropy.
  15. Please provide me a source that insulin, and not from overdose, leads to a significant increase in death. Also, I know you're into conspiracy theories, so please only legitimate sources and not 4chan. Then we can call it related, and I'll answer your question. Until then, I'd like to continue to discuss how philanthropic work absolves people of their harm to society. Because, I too, believe that if you're rich enough that you can morally get away with anything. Mexico drug cartels offer charity during pandemic WWW.DW.COM Drug cartels in Mexico have been handing out food to people in need during the coronavirus pandemic. The organized crime networks are vying to maintain and even grow their influence.
  16. Also, sorry, for the record, I agree with you. JK Rowling is not capable of being harmful to society due to her spending money for the strict purposes of tax write-offs. As we all know, the more you skim off taxes the more better good a person you are.
  17. I'm sorry, I don't do well with technology. You'll have to forgive me Saddam Hussein - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG "Saddam implemented a national infrastructure campaign that made great progress in building roads, promoting mining, and developing other industries. The campaign helped Iraq's energy industries. Electricity was brought to nearly every city in Iraq, and many outlying areas. Before the 1970s, most of Iraq's people lived in the countryside and roughly two-thirds were peasants. This number would decrease quickly during the 1970s as global oil prices helped revenues to rise from less than a half billion dollars to tens of billions of dollars and the country invested into industrial expansion."
  18. Sorry, I just keep forgetting to post completely unrelated things, I'm just so excited to hear your input on things that I trip over myself Report: Prince Charles' charity got donation from bin Ladens | AP News APNEWS.COM LONDON (AP) ā€” Britainā€™s Prince Charles is facing more questions over his charities after a newspaper reported that one of his funds accepted a 1 million pound ($1.2 million) donation from relatives of Osama bin Laden.
  19. Sorry, almost forgot this one Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein's alleged madam, donated money to a charity for sex trafficking victims in 2008 WWW.BUSINESSINSIDER.COM Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein's alleged madam, donated $350 to a charity for sex trafficking victims in 2008, tax documents show.
  20. Also, leaving this here, for no particular reason: Jeffrey Epstein VI Foundation - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG
  21. Unrelated question, just a bit of curiosity: do you think Charles Manson should have been let free so long as he donated large sums of money to charity alongside running a murder cult?
  22. "Rent Free" is not an argument and is said by a person when they have nothing of substance to respond with.
  23. I was in San Francisco literally the day they shut down. Being on Market Street, in the middle of the day, with only like 2 or 3 other people in sight will be forever burned into my memory. Nothing in my life has ever felt more bizarre.
