edit: nevermind It seems like I had some wrong info, according to their forums they're still way behind on shipping. All my friends on discord are playing this turd and several of them have already spent a boatload. I tried to delicately and politely tell them that they're contributing to what will imho be the death of gaming (without legal intervention). I don't have a problem with microtransactions but the gambling aspect needs to fucking go away. Its scummy and incredibly harmful to certain individuals (and especially kids) but it also sets poor precedent for future monetization of AAA games. This is unfortunately the future we have to look forward to.

This is a very likely scenario. JS asks some low level employees and they say no choice given, but meanwhile behind the scenes the people 1 or 2 levels higher did have a meeting and decided crunch vs delay. Both reports are techincally correct but missing important details. Much easier to democratize 20 team leads vs 1,100 individuals.

So I'm very much against the exploitation of workers, and by all accounts the VG industry is among the worst, I've had friends in the industry and it sounds incredibly stressful. Having said that this Jason guy always comes off as a colossal douche with his 'holier than thou' smarminess. He might be taken more seriously and be given more respect if he went with the 'honey' instead of the 'vinegar' approach.

Does yours crash all the way to a system reboot aswell? I'm faily certain psu is the cause because of this (windows log critical error 41 kernal power). Mine crashes almost instantly in 1440p in any newish game unless i lower the clocks by an absurd number like 400mhz. I'm going to try to swing by micro center today to pick up a new psu see if it resolves the problem

I think it'll garner mostly low 90's but considering the expectations that would probably be a colossal disappointment to many. I simply don't see it redefining a genre in the way that the Witcher 2 & 3 did, but I don't think it needs to in order to be a tremendous game. Even if it's basically just a GTA / Deus Ex hybrid I'm totally on board for that.

I can't go to MC most days because of work but I have a few friends who have been going and the closest store gets between 2-15 cards ~4-5 days a week now. If you can get there by around 7:30-8ish (maybe 9 depending on how big a city you're in) you'll definitely get one in the next few weeks. Wednesday they got 2 Strix, Thurdsay they got 4 MSI, Today they got 15 total (EVGA, Tuf, Strix)

RDR2 isn't a great benchmark for GPU as it gets CPU bottlenecked pretty hard. Also Ampere sees biggest percentage increases in 4K, the 2080ti actually outperforms it at 1080p in many instances. The combo of these things leads to pretty meh performance, but yeah 60+fps @1440p is solid if a little underwhelming.

I didn't care much about cyberpunk, it always looked great but just seemed like a fever dream in the extremely distant future, but now that we're finally a month away after all these long years I'm starting to get hyped. I'm not going to allow myself to fall victim the the extremely lofty expectations that others have set for it, I'll judge it on it's merits.

Nintendo Nintendo says Joycon drift isn't a real problem.

correct. -
Also it doesn't make sense to pick parts now if you're not going to purchase them for 8 months because things change quickly in the tech world, there might be something that's newer, better, AND cheaper 8 months from now. Perfect example: the 3080 is newer, better, and WAY cheaper than the 2080ti. So if you had planned a build a months ago you'd be overpaying for an overpriced underpowered card.

I was obviously being hyperbolic apologies if it seemed agressive, not my intent. But you're suggesting to manually refresh numerous pages on the hour every hour and also randomly at other times is easier and less stressful then following a discord server one time, setting up a page monitor 1 time, and then having them just automatically notify you when it's in stock? I don't really know how to respond to that, it's baffling to me. I conceded that apple pay/the app is great, because it automates checkout, so why wouldn't you want to automate locating the product in the first place? Like I guess you're getting tons of false reports? If you set it up right that's not an issue, I get 1 or 2 a day when a site crashes due to traffic but that's it.

Buddy... I dare you to try and get another one. There are 10,000 people in this discord server trying to get one and everyone who is able is using apple pay, following the discord, set up distill/page monitor, etc. etc. With no luck, there are 270 confirmed orders out of 10k people Again you just got really really lucky. And yes apple pay on the newegg app is definitely one of the better methods as confirmed by newegg themselves and some people on the server who have had success but you're quite litterally putting all your eggs in one very very very small basket. I got a 3080 order in also by using page monitor, it just happens to be shipping later than yours. I'm just trying to help people get cards and keep them out of the hands of scalpers but you're making it sound way way easier than it actually is for most people.
