When does the update go live? The "quality mode" @ 30fps is kinda weird - I thought the XSX/PS5 versions were already basically at PC Ultra settings?

The issue seems to be related to having an external hdd plugged in AND going into rest mode. The issue is the system reboots, or upon coming out of rest mode, goes to an error screen saying it needs to rebuild your external drive’s database - after it finishes, some people have gotten a bricked system; no external hdd, you probably have nothing to worry about (how could it need to rebuild the external drive’s database if there’s no external drive?). This also is likely some software glitch, not hardware. Do not use an external hdd until this is 100% confirmed to be fixed.

The external hdd occurred in other scenarios too, notably playing games off of one. Do you have a link to the notes that it was fixed? I’ve been hesitant to plug an external in because of the issues.

Yea, he’s very hesitant without a stimulus bill as he knows that it could/will be a death knell for many businesses and people (financially) that have “survived” until now. Something to consider as well, iirc, hospitalizations are roughly 2-3 weeks behind positive cases, with deaths ~10-14 days post hospitalization. My XboneX used to do that a lot, and my XSX has done it a couple times now. With the PS5, I’ve been doing a full shutdown over rest mode due to the reports of rest mode potentially having issues in some games and bricking consoles (though, it may have more to do with having an external hdd plugged in?), and it hasn’t turned itself on yet.

Only in terms of death rate, cases and hospitalizations have exceeded the spring. Deaths will catch up soon enough (unless we do something), unfortunately.
