Wearing a rumal in a Gurdwara is common courtesy, and a sign of respect. They are literally at the door for visitors to put on. Criticising someone for wearing one makes you a racist POS.

It's probably too late to recommend the Walmart swap. -
My experience with Covid: 1) Exposure Saturday at Dinner 2) Very mild cold symptoms Monday night 3) Felt like I had a slight runny nose on Tuesday 4) Felt like I had a mild Flu on Wednesday 5) Mild symptoms during the morning on Thursday, 99% on Thursday evening These vaccines work. Anecdotally, I know SOOO many people who have caught it (and tested positive in the last month), and my symptoms were among the worst.

I think he will be more right than wrong on the BA2 wave. Wastewater signals are decreasing, many other places didn’t have a huge wave and the ICU numbers haven’t spiked. There are still a lot of people upset about the previous Liberal government.

If the Federal Conservatives could bring out the vote in Ontario like Doug Ford does, they would form the Government.

Charest is a Liberal -- I don't think he is electable. Pierre Poilievre is too far right -- I don't think he is electable East of Manitoba Patrick Brown has checkered sexual harassment history -- I don't think he is electable. Leslyn Lewis is a staunch social conservative -- I don't think she is electable. Conservatives are in for a rough ride.

This contract puts Carr at ~$35/year over the next 4 years -- the 7th highest paid QB in the league. Probably about FMV.

Tested positive this morning. We went to dinner with some high school friends on Saturday (fairly large group of 9 people). Mid-way through dinner, I asked a friend where his wife was.... He told me she didn't come because she wasn't feeling well. He tested positive on Sunday. So far, it's like a mild cold, with a VERY light headache, and some body aches. No fever.

General Gaming Any cloud gaming enthusiasts in the house?
AbsolutSurgen replied to Z3M0G's topic in The Spawn Point
I did some streaming early on: 1) My internet connection from my ISP has intermittent "blips" where I would get momentary pixilation (sometimes for up to 30 seconds). It's annoying on streaming video. Kills the experience for gaming. 2) The lag was better than I expected, but still noticeable. I play a lot of driving games, where lag has more of an impact, so streaming doesn't really fit what I want. -
1) This portion of the Budget has received very little media coverage. If Riley hadn't posted here, I probably wouldn't have noticed it. 2) Canada already has pretty good Hate Speech laws, I wonder if this specific law is even needed. I really think that almost all Holocaust denial would be caught up in Canada's already existing hate speech laws. My concern is the precedent in banning specific speech on a specific topic. I would prefer if it was kept more generic. Your point about speech not being violence is spot on. However, explicitly racist hate speech is a problem in Canada. In many cases, holocaust denial leads directly into calls for violence against Jews. IMHO, I think the problem is more the violence against Jews (and general antisemitism), rather than the holocaust denial itself.

Despite higher hospitalization and case loads, there is no evidence that the ICUs in Ontario are yet close to being overwhelmed. CMOH said earlier today that current modelling shows that present modelling suggests ICU usage might rise to about 600 people at the peak of this wave -- but that this wouldn't alter their plans. Reiterated that people should get vaccinated -- up to 3rd dose for everyone eligible, 4th dose for 60+ and immunocompromised. Reiterated plans to make Paxlovid easily accessible for the vulnerable.
