All I know is that in passing over my wife's online meeting this afternoon there were teachers yelling at their admin for potentially and intentionally (the first positive came up the previous week) putting them in harms way. All for the school board and superintendent that have been very public in denying that COVID was a problem, to get the district open. All the admin of the school did was threaten to write people that voiced their frustration for insubordination. Rural Nevada as a whole is sufficiently fucked as our numbers really start to climb.

So from the school board meeting last night for the district my wife teaches in. It was found out that up to 40 students (these are children of staff members) were exposed and 12-15 staff members of the district are waiting on results due to a day care program designed to help staff members of the district get their classrooms ready to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the district. This is a result of 6 children of teachers testing positive during this program. In my local school district, school was delayed because our county doubled our cases this past week due to an outbreak on tribal land and concerns for the school out there.

Wife's school district just sent out an email at around 8:30 tonight telling all staff to halt working (this includes online teachers) and have delayed opening until next week. They send it was due to transportation issues. But, due to other county facilities also putting out statements of sudden closure citing talks with the county's emergency manager, the scuttlebutt is that is 1 or more teachers may have tested positive.

Their were anti-maskers then. But this group (even by historians standards) are a bit more loud about it.

We had U.S. Marshals at our polling location in 2016 and 2018 due to our old county clerk forgetting about a voter roll in 2014 in their desk. I remember in 2016 a Trump voter was arrested for harassing people going into the library to vote by them. But I am sure if they are here again for Operation Keep Darkies from Voting that will solidify the Trump people in town to harass people again.

Also when she was doing her back to school meetings and the principal of her school was explaining how things would work she was proud that say that they where able to fit more students in each classroom by removing the teachers' desk. They allowed them to fit 2 extra student per classroom with the states guidelines for distancing.

Yeah, they at least did that. Reporting sickness is on an honor system (pretty much every day the kids have to fill out a paper saying they aren't sick, showing signs of being sick or came into contact with someone ill). My wife thankfully after much fighting got one of the online positions for teaching this year. Which is amazing considering that even with lengthy letters from 3 doctors about her health issues they denied, but the day the state's special session passed a bill allowing school districts to be held liable they instantly found a online position for her.

And that is for the districts that are bold enough to have the kids eat at the school. My wife's district is just sending lunch and breakfast home with students.

I haven't heard yet. But knowing our post office, even before the USPS mess, we will receive them a week before they are due just like with the primary stuff.
