Well I got the UHD version of the XPS 15 9510 in the mail. I don't get sick but I do get a headache. I have no idea what causes that. I can work all day long on my ACER X34 and Surface Pro 5 but Dell screens seem to wreck me. For some reason it seems like I need to focus harder on the screen to look at it. I go back to my Surface Pro and no issues. This is annoying. I would try out the GF's computer glasses but they are beat to hell.

Visually it was great. Just made me sick. Didn't notice anything wrong with the screen. Order seemed up to snuff. Just got my next laptop. See how this one goes. Haven't had time to do more than setup. BTW, the XPS series constantly gets good reviews as of late. I do check the hardware though. I saw where manufacturers play games with Gamers Nexus and LTT.

I believe it is just the specific technology. PWM causes a lot of these issues from what I have read. The way they implemented it just wrecks me. My Pixel 5 OLED screen isn't an issue so I just assume it happens to be the PWM frequencies they use or something. Still learning about the tech. All I know is Dell's implementation doesn't work for me or I can deal with it on small screens with a smaller FOV. I sent back the laptop an ordered a new one. Really wanted it to work though.

It is expensive but the build quality is fantastic.

I am thinking that may be the case. Curious if anyone else had these issues or not. I did turn down the brightness a bit so that will hopefully help. I hope I do adjust. The screen is amazing!

So I decided to splurge and get the new Dell XPS 15 (9510) with the OLED screen. The screen and laptop are fantastic. My only problem is that the OLED seems to make me motion sick ☹️ Anyone else have this issue with OLED screens? Any ideas how to prevent this? Literally contemplating returning the laptop and getting their other 4k screen.

That seems a bit excessive. Especially considering all the employees it would impact. Not to mention AA provides a huge portion of passenger uplift for the US economy. Other airlines would take a very very long time to cover that flying. We just need a more regulated system for the executives. Hell, I would have loved to see the acceptance of the bailouts last year require new executive staffing to be required. All the big airlines had huge stock buybacks over the last decade that would have helped them stay afloat longer. Instead they let their debt increase while temporarily appeasing the stockholders. Punish the execs, not the workers.

Makes you almost wonder if they forgot consoles existed while developing the game.

I think it is a step in the right direction. DLSS 1.0 was shit and has definitely improved with version 2.0. I expect similar occurring here. I honestly didn't expect AMD to actually beat nvidia right off the bat.

I have a 980TI that should be in working order. Been in storage since I replaced it a couple years ago.

Got it from Newegg. I used a tracker called Stock Drops I believe. It sent me notifications min Discord. They will be tracking AMD stuff as well.

Just got a ASUS Strix 3090. Took long enough. Solid version at least!

🤣, easy to say with hindsight. I signed up but I am so far back in line it isn't even funny. At the beginning a sign up was worthless for emails at most stores. By the time you got the email they were sold out. I had no incentive at the time. 🤷‍♂️

Honestly, I am thinking about cancelling my backorder that I have for a 3080 because of this. If nVidia has TIs hidden up their sleeves and reduce pricing I may get lucky by waiting a bit. 🤔 I am just now getting around to play Dragon Age Inquisition. My 2080 Super is overkill for that game 😂

$650 for the 6800XT $1000 for the 6900XT Hopefully this means nVidia will drop prices on the 3090s. They were already pretty shit value to begin with.

Glad to see AMD stepping up again! I would like to remind everyone that these benchmarks are done by AMD internally and may not reflect actual testing. The charts I have seen only provide minimal information about game settings and the test rigs. I only mention this because nVidia was guilty of saying the 3090 can do 8K when it can only do it in specific games with specific settings. Personally I am sticking with nVidia isince I want to mess around with some AI and the fact that I have a gsync monitor. The AMD cards sure do look like great value for people not in my circumstance!

Gotta say. The lack of 3080 and 3090 drops is getting annoying. There was a good one about 1.5 weeks ago at Best Buy but it has been primarily zilch since. I got my ass handed to me with Best Buy several times. Got to checkout multiple times and then denied. Makes me wonder if they are waiting on either the 3070 launch or even Big Navi to drop before any more big shipments are made.

It depends on what you intend to use it for. If you are like me and are thinking about messing around with AI it would be great to have. More memory also helps for rendering stuff. The 3080 actually failed some rendering benchmarks because it simply ran out of video memory. A 3080 with more memory would be a real good deal considering the 3090's flaccid performance.

Apparently TigerDirect is going to ship my card in mid-November. 😬 At least they told me.

If you still have your backorder in and it goes through let me know. I will buy it at cost from you.

I really do not see a reason to be angry. Slightly perturbed, sure. Unless you could use a 3090 for work I don't see a point in stressing about this to an extreme. The only reason I took the time to make a bot earlier was primarily because I wanted to see if I could. Ultimately these guys getting a bunch of cards doesn't really hurt the situation all that much anyway once you look at the full scale of things.

Yup, My 2080 Super will do just fine but I can see its limitations. I am not gaming at 4k but I do use an ultra-wide monitor so it needs to push more pixels than 1440p. 3440x1440 still keeps RDR2 in the mid 50 FPS range with some settings cranked up and others at medium.
