General Gaming AMD's Big Navi / RDNA2 Conference : Starts at 12pm EST

Honestly, I am thinking about cancelling my backorder that I have for a 3080 because of this. If nVidia has TIs hidden up their sleeves and reduce pricing I may get lucky by waiting a bit. 🤔 I am just now getting around to play Dragon Age Inquisition. My 2080 Super is overkill for that game 😂 -

$650 for the 6800XT $1000 for the 6900XT Hopefully this means nVidia will drop prices on the 3090s. They were already pretty shit value to begin with. -

Glad to see AMD stepping up again! I would like to remind everyone that these benchmarks are done by AMD internally and may not reflect actual testing. The charts I have seen only provide minimal information about game settings and the test rigs. I only mention this because nVidia was guilty of saying the 3090 can do 8K when it can only do it in specific games with specific settings. Personally I am sticking with nVidia isince I want to mess around with some AI and the fact that I have a gsync monitor. The AMD cards sure do look like great value for people not in my circumstance! -
Gotta say. The lack of 3080 and 3090 drops is getting annoying. There was a good one about 1.5 weeks ago at Best Buy but it has been primarily zilch since. I got my ass handed to me with Best Buy several times. Got to checkout multiple times and then denied. Makes me wonder if they are waiting on either the 3070 launch or even Big Navi to drop before any more big shipments are made.

It depends on what you intend to use it for. If you are like me and are thinking about messing around with AI it would be great to have. More memory also helps for rendering stuff. The 3080 actually failed some rendering benchmarks because it simply ran out of video memory. A 3080 with more memory would be a real good deal considering the 3090's flaccid performance.

I really do not see a reason to be angry. Slightly perturbed, sure. Unless you could use a 3090 for work I don't see a point in stressing about this to an extreme. The only reason I took the time to make a bot earlier was primarily because I wanted to see if I could. Ultimately these guys getting a bunch of cards doesn't really hurt the situation all that much anyway once you look at the full scale of things.

So I decided to give it one more go. It popped up in inventory at 9:48. I got to checkout with the same familiar not in stock message at the end. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/gigabyte-geforce-rtx-3080-10g-gddr6x-pci-express-4-0-graphics-card-black/6436223.p?skuId=6436223 I'm refreshing this at 10. Maybe it will drop here? edit: nope

Honestly, it has to be a PR thing. I can't tell you how many cards I had ready to go with minimal hesitation only to be sold out shortly after being added to my cart. No way those are human sales. Honestly at this point I don't feel bad for doing it. I am not paying a bot company and I am only getting a card for personal use.
