(DVD) The Bonfire of the Vanities: 7/10 The Bonfire of the Vanities is a Brian De Palma joint based on a Tom Wolfe book of the same name. This movie was seemingly critically panned from people who had read the book but as someone who had not read the book ignorance is bliss I suppose. The film begins with one of those perversely long shots, following a journalist, Peter Fallow (Bruce Willis), as he accepts an award for his book. He made a name for himself by writing about a Wall Street trader, Sherman McCoy (Tom Hanks), that found himself in the wrong side of town (the Bronx), and was involved in a hit and run that left a guy in a Coma. Since it happened in the Bronx and is an election year, the mayor needs a "white whale" to help his reelection chances and McCoy happens to be that White Whale as he becomes a sacrifice for a minister, DA and Mayor. I believe it is supposed to be semi-satirical, kind of like an American Psycho kind of deal but maybe not that extreme. If anything it is more of a fantasy. Imagine a Park Avenue wall street trader actually being held accountable for the harm of a black man. If anything it seems to rely a lot on stereotypes (and maybe The Bronx was a place WASPs feared to go in the '90s) so it feels a bit rough in that regard. I will say though that Morgan Freeman kind of steals the show here as the judge, everyone else is kind of a piece of trash one way or the other.

Hmm yeah, not sure this is the topic to start shooting names of Switch games off but I could throw some out. Also, knowing that you have a pretty wide variety of tastes I could say a lot of things That's just kind of off the top of my head and games that aren't on PS4. Yes I didn't list BOTW

I mean the first section of RE Village and the bosses are probably the most action that game sees. And RE4 proper is more action intense across the board.

Other than the bosses and the first section I think there's very little in terms of action compared to RE4.

You would have to move too much in VR. The only fear in that game is the fear of losing your lunch while playing it in VR.

This one is for a documentary but anyone find it weird we are getting a lot of movies for products now? The Tetris movie is coming, there's a blackberry movie and an Air Jordan movie AND a movie about Flamin Hot Cheetos It's the next evolution of making a game movie / show to drive sales to the actual game.

Very cool, now we don't have to pay people those low wage jobs anymore.
