  1. The only thing I've ever read is that they paid Capcom $5 million to get RE7 to be playable on PSVR. I believe its up to Capcom now to bring it to other VR systems if they want. I understand what you're saying, but I think your position is just misguided is all. There are a lot of quiet investments in the works from SIE Studios and for next-gen titles outside of SIE Studios, from their recently announced partnerships with Haven and Firewalk, to their rumored game with Remedy. There are also big investments in their China Hero Project, which continues to bear fruit with Lost Soul Aside releasing this year. My guess is the game Bluepoint is currently working on is in conjunction with Sony. And that's just what we know. Originally, it was set for five games from their studios and partners at launch (Astro/Demon's/Destruction AllStars/Sackboy/Miles), third party deals like Bugsnax, and six this year from their studios and partners (Horizon, Returnal, Ratchet, God of War 2, Horizon 2, GT7). But everyone is behind due to COVID and working from home. See Sumo Digital's video about making Sackboy from home, or this: GDC State of the Industry: WFH Edition survey reveals COVID-19's impact on devs WWW.GAMASUTRA.COM GDC today released the results of a special State of the Industry: Work From Home Edition Survey which reveal how the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has impacted game developers across the industry. So GT7 is delayed, GOW2 will be announced as delayed according to Schrier, and this year is AllStars/The Show/Returnal/Ratchet/Horizon and coordination with third parties on games like Deathloop and FF7 Intergrade. At least announced so far since it's only April. Despite your comparisons with previous gens being thin around launch, they honestly don't matter when talking about this gen: devs have already said it's been harder to get things finished, with movies also being pushed back because they can't be worked on or the work is going slower from home. I'd imagine the only people benefiting are solo indie game devs who have more time at home to work on their smaller game. Look at MS: Microsoft had one big game scheduled for launch and it had to be delayed a full year. My guess is that a delay may have still happened but would have been less severe had there been no pandemic as progress would have been larger. None of this is surprising. None of us on message boards know what's going on behind the scenes, but there's no reason to believe there's not a lot of investment in first party titles, particularly since the first year is easily stronger than the 4 and 3 in its first party. With 2, it depends if you liked Dark Cloud/GT3/TMB/ICO/Jak/FreQuency/Fantavision/Extermination more than Astro Bot/Demon's Souls/Destruction/Miles Morales/Returnal/Ratchet/Sackboy/The Show (assuming there aren't more announcements for games this summer as there were last summer when they announced their fall slate). And as an employed dude who also plays his third parties on his Playstation like a ton of others, I still have a backlog and still haven't played games like Hitman 3 or It Takes Two because a person's gotta work, so I'm probably set for the year.
  2. Again it really depends who you are. As a mostly console gamer, just having instant loading and games built for that, not to mention some really lovely uses of the controller, has been great and fresh. And I want to say I own around five games from its launch? And I haven’t gotten to one of them yet because life and stuff. It was one of the most fun launches I can remember, and overall much stronger than the 4 and the 3. Deathloop was delayed, which stinks as I was looking forward to its release next month, but even then I’m interested in three games in the next two months that are set. And the only reason I was even playing the PS3 is to play the R&C games in anticipation for the new game. It’s been bitchin’ for me.
  3. US to share AstraZeneca shots with world after safety check APNEWS.COM WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. will begin sharing its entire stock of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines with the world once it clears federal safety reviews, the White House said Monday, with as many as 60 million doses expected to be available for export in the coming months. The move greatly expands on the Biden administration's action last month to share about 4 million doses of the vaccine with Mexico and Canada. The AstraZeneca vaccine is widely in...
  4. For context, this is part of Sony's China Hero Project. "China Hero Project (CHPJ)"is a program based on PlayStation platform, which strongly support Chinese funded game developers (mainly start-ups) to enter the whole Chinese and global market, committing to" create a successful game works (=star) worldwide" and "cultivation and development of Chinese game industry". The project is supported by partners such as Epic Games, Inc., CRI Middleware, Digital Hearts HLDGS., Silicon Studio,Streamline Studios、WACOM、 Unity Technologies (Shanghai) Limited, who look to further increase on Chinese console game market, and provide development techniques of game engine, middleware etc. and debug services in order to improve the quality of game for Chinese game developers. In addition, Whiz Partners provides financial support for CHPJ. 5. Maybe try Crack in Time or Tools of Destruction on PS3. CiT is available on PS Now. Or Up Your Arsenal on PS3, which is the third of the original games. I loved R&C Remake, but it was sold as a budget game because it's a re-imagining of the first one. So there's no arena mode, for example, and the length of the game is shorter than something like Crack in Time.
  6. They were slower, at least compared to PS5. Also, wtf is this trend with mentioning people who already are posting in the thread? Weirdos.
  7. Overall, not many changes. The US population grew at its slowest rate since the 1930s. Winners and losers from first release of 2020 census data APNEWS.COM More than a year since the 2020 census began in a remote Alaska village, the first numbers to emerge from the nation's once-a-decade head count were released on Monday, showing how many congressional seats and Electoral College votes each state is getting based on its population. Because the number of seats in the House of Representatives is set at 435, it's a zero-sum game with one state's gain resulting in another state's loss — like a pie with...

  9. Yup, exactly. I know xbob is WAY quicker than I am with games, so I'm pretty sure he's played all 10,000 games from last gen and is bored as hell.
  10. No lies detected, though I meant more "You haven't bought a Playstation console in that long." And if you don't mind playing a game on the 4 instead of the 5, I'd assume you're not also housing a strong PC that you play all your third party games on. Though have you seen sales for some of the cross-platform games like Miles? Last update, 71% of sales were on the PS5 despite the bigger install base of the PS4. Lot of people really are waiting and picking up Miles as their first PS5 game or one of their first. My guess is that people who want to take the jump into next-gen would rather wait until they get the 5 instead of playing it on the 4.
  11. If you don't have an XSX or PS5, then buying it means you have plenty to play once you pick one up; the next few months are busy for me, never mind anything that's come out. If you didn't even have a PS4 and this is your first PS console since the 3 or 2, then you've got quite a bit on the PS Collection and monthly games. Everyone has a different circumstance going in. I'd only have exhausted all my options if I were still in 8th grade with no job or gf and could play all the time and never missed a new release. I've still got last-gen backlog. :-X
  12. I'd like to be one of the enemies, just sitting in the final world for 10 hours until Ratchet gets there and turns me into a duck.
  13. Sony purchasing them, especially for that price, was a steal. The fact that they followed up Spider-Man with Miles Morales in two years, ready for launch, with the content it had (less than Spidey but still plenty via the main story and side missions, plus just dicking around because you're fucking Spider-Man), and the fact that it outsold Tsushima and TLOU2 in way less time, is nuts, and then you consider less than a year later they have Rift Apart ready to go. Add their VR know-how and Sony's commitment to it, and they're the perfect devs nowadays, developing games quickly and efficiently when many games take a long time to develop. I know the ease of development on the PS5 is crazy-good, but still, they're nuts. They did a lot last gen, but it was through Sony, Oculus, and MS plus some mobile and multiplats like Song of the Deep, so having them as part of SIE with consistent funding means a lot coming out this gen. I think it helps that Insomniac doesn't really add a ton of bloat to their games. Even the Spidey games, though open-world, are lean.
  14. I visited the Pacific Northwest and also went to Montana during the trip (don't think that's considered part of it? But I could be wrong), and it's gorgeous. I saw more of Washington than Oregon, so I'm a bit partial to the former, but they're both lovely.
