I loved Silo. I love Foundation. I've heard good things about the other sci-fi shows on AppleTV+. I've liked Noomi Rapace since the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo days so I'll definitely check this out.

I actually give her quite a bit of credit for not sounding like her songs were written in a board room. But they do sound like songs written by somebody who never had to wonder where the money for rent was coming from. Never loved somebody where it wasn’t reciprocated. Never thinks about big issues and how they affect the individual. I think lots, most even, of great art is born of struggle and honestly her music sounds like it was written by an affluent white girl who never struggled a day in her life. Maybe she has had those experiences I don’t know. But I don’t hear it in her songs that I’ve heard. But also, not everything needs to be great art.

Taylor Swift and Hitler receiving the same award sounds about right something something a joke about her songs being a musical holocaust.

A sad melody for a sad song. The words and metaphor here are undeniably beautiful whether you believe in a divine Jesus or not. Songs about hot chocolate and shopping and falling in love can go fuck themselves.

Same. I mean, on one hand I don't think any adaption needs to adhere strictly to its source material. On the other hand it was just vaguely Halo enough to be called Halo so that was kind of disheartening. Forget a face reveal. Take off those pants!

Looks slick. Actors for the most part are not good. I'll always like Pablo though and I like him here. The script/writing is centered around a generic magic object thingy that I assume will lead them to Halo. As a whole it definitely feels better and more polished than a generic network sci-fi show for sure. But I can see why Showtime didn't want this to be a Showtime thing too.

Yes. Remember in Halo 3 how Master Chief would get those fever dreams of Cortana's tortured state? And how irritating that was? It was like That: The Series. Lots of Master Chief fever dreams and visions. Still no appearances or mention (that I remember) of the game/show's namesake by the time I stopped watching which was over halfway through the season. There was some cool fight scenes and stuff though.

Trailer is intriguing, but man I couldn't get through that first season. And I've been a pretty big Halo dork (i.e. I've consumed material beyond just the games). I might have to power through.

Seriously have to question taste and judgement when somebody buys this thing. It's not practical as a truck. Too big and heavy for a car. Fugly as uck. Associated with Musk. Red flags everywhere.
