  1. It's great, fairly short. Copy your save before bosses if you want to do a no deaths run. Copy your save at the first save point and purposely die and then kill your corpse if you care about achievements, the use the copied save to continue with 0 deaths. I hate the whole souls mechanics but if you don't die it doesn't matter. Since it's short you can progress quickly.
  2. A lot of stuff will be in the Old Port (lots of restaurants and museums such as the Science Museum). Weather could be great. 2 days ago it was really warm, yesterday and this morning were freezing and now it's going back to warm so don't be surprised if one day it is -20 and 2 days later 20. Just hope there isn't another icestorm. Besides the Old Port, the Olympic Stadium is at a metro stop and there is other stuff there such as the Biodome. If the weather is nice you can go to Mount Royal (hiking paths and look out over the city) or walk along the Lachine canal (head west from the Old Port area). If the weather is bad you can explore the underground city downtown. Chinatown is right near the Old Port. For transit, Zone A covers the island of Montreal (metro, bus and commuter train) but be careful if you go off the island. For example, the yellow line only has 3 stops, the middle stop is on its own island (in warmer months it would be a good place to go, La Ronde, the local Six Flags is there and various festivals are held there) but if you go past it to the last stop you will need to buy a ticket to get back even if you have a pass since it is a different zone.

  4. No, it's a SC2 mission pack featuring the main character from the canceled SC Ghost, so it's still RTS and not a 3rd person shooter.
  5. Walking home from work during the warmer months is good exercise but being in office means I have do some of the stuff that WFH people can't do.
  6. Started and finished Franzen. It's a free JRPG on Steam. Took me a bit over 8 hours though it can be finished in half that. It doesn't have official controller support, didn't work with an Xbox controller but the Switch Pro controller work. The + button was both menu and cancel which was a bit weird, both B and A were confirm. You can either remap the controls in Steam or just get used to them like I did. I had to get up when starting the game to hit F4 to expand it to fullscreen but I enjoyed the game.
  7. Finished Franzen. It's a free JRPG on Steam, some of the images reminded me of FFVI. It's pretty short, but it was fun. You don't get EXP but bosses tend to drop items that you can use to boost your stats and there's a town where you can buy those items. Best to just use 1 of them on each character then advance in that town as 1 character gets upgrade but loses the boost from the item. So get that upgrade before you use more of that item. The main character's portrait looks reptilian/crocodilian but his battle sprite looks like a turd and your healer's name is Fucker.
  8. Now that I have 100% of the items in We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie, I experimented a bit with collecting roses. Based on how many I rolled up holding the sticks to go in circles for 10 minutes it would still take around 80 hours using the rubber band trick. I saw somebody claim to get around 65,000 per hour in 2 of the rose levels which seems a lot faster than what I was doing but even if I could match it, I'd still be looking at almost 14 hours of doing the same level over and over to get the remaining just under 900,000 roses so I'm done with just 10% of the 1,000,000. I hope whoever came up with that level realizes how stupid they are.
  9. Finished We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie. I got 100% item completion. For what I though was my last item the guide just said: "GAMES | 3 ? | " which was not helpful. I searched from the item between Puzzle Arcade Machine and Pachinko Machine but all I found was that somebody on Reddit ran into the same problem but nobody answered. Next I tried searching for the Games page that the missing item was on and was able to find it. After getting it I found out that it is listed at the top of the guide. The missing item is Crane Game found on Make a Planet 4 (in the town after 3M, need to be just under 5M to get it). I checked my item completion after getting it and it was only 99.9% but I was able to find the last one and get 100%. I didn't get it both times I played the PS2 version. I'm only just over 70,000 into 1,000,000 roses (7%) so I can't see myself spending the time finishing that so unless I change my mind tomorrow, I'm done. There seems to be a bug with the item listing, the second last page always shows a star as if there was a new item even though I look at each subpage and made sure there were no items with further subpages.
  10. Got every achievement in We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie. My lowest item category % is 87% so I plan to try to get all items (already got that stupid cowbear). The item guide on Gamefaqs doesn't give a lot of detail except for a small selection of items and may have mistakes so there's a chance I'll give up. Not much of a chance that I'll go for 1,000,000 roses since even the 4% of that that I've done so far is stupidly tedious.
  11. The free EGS games that are ending tomorrow are Doki Doki Literature Club Plus and Lost Castle. Dakar Desert Rally and probably something else will replace them tomorrow.
  12. I got everything in Katamari Damacy REROLL and in Katamari Forever but gave up when I replayed We Love Katamari (I got tired of waiting for REROLL to be announced). This time I've been making an effort to roll up things that seem rare. Since it hasn't been that long since I replayed the PS2 version and Katamari Forever, I remember a lot of the sort of things I tend to have left over (such as unique signs) so I actively seek them out. If there aren't too many left by the time I'm at the end I'll try to get them all.
  13. Started We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie.
  14. I really liked it. It's often silly but it's really fun.
  15. Did you try it exactly as it is in the Steam group? If so, that's why it didn't work, it's missing a . between 246 and 17, so if you just copied and pasted, it won't work. How does the vs machine mode work? Normally we'd need 6-8 people to have a good chance of attracting others to join. With fewer players, it'd be better to join a populated server.
  16. Gametracker says it's alive. It's been on koth_sawmill for years. https://www.gametracker.com/server_info/208.167.246.17:27015
  17. Setting FOV to 110 and changing to 3rd person wasn't a cure but it helps enough that I can keep playing with fewer and shorter breaks.
  18. The Beast Inside on GOG GOG.com WWW.GOG.COM Download the best classic and new games on Windows, Mac & Linux. A vast selection of titles, DRM-free, with free goodies and 30-day money-back guarantee.
  19. Looks and feels like Nintendo is cheaping out on cables compared to when I got my Pro controller. Might be a bit shorter too but it works and is brand new. The controller works too, all the buttons work in the Steam controller test. On the old one, no shoulder buttons worked, the Amiibo button didn't work nor the - and + which were x and / (rotated and swapped positions plus they were stuck pushed in). It didn't work unless it was plugged in and even then the charge light didn't light up. The weird thing is I used the controller at Christmas without noticing it was defective. I only used it for one game of Fifa and the stick and face buttons worked though. At least my nephew noticed the problem and they got it back to me within the extended holiday return window.
  20. Nope. Never had an issue in any kind of vehicle. Some of my nieces get car sick. Like I said, I played The Talos Principle and Road to Gehenna back to back years ago and after making it through the main game without issue, the problem started while playing Road to Gehenna. I seem to be fine in the puzzle rooms in the Talos Principle 2, it's running around in the open that's a problem. I'll try increasing the FOV, apparently you can play in 3rd person so maybe I'll try that, at least for exploration if it ends up being a pain for the puzzles.
