  1. It doesn't help that younger generations also only know Dr. Robotnik as Eggman.
  2. You know I've never played these because for some reason I assumed they were on rails...but this actually looks fun!
  3. I like how they say "even if" shareholders vote to approve...when all indications are that they will approve.
  4. Ukraine took out a rail bridge in the south that the Russians were using to transport gear/supplies from Crimea to the south and east:
  5. Princeton University investigating Sam Wang for research misconduct, toxic workplace issues - New Jersey Globe NEWJERSEYGLOBE.COM Princeton University has launched an internal investigation of Sam Wang, the controversial head of the Princeton Gerrymandering Project, after members of Whoa. He's a pretty big name in data science, especially as it relates to election tracking and gerrymandering.
  6. lol NYT calling conservative areas of France "red." As far as I am aware, the US is the only western nation where red = conservative (typically red = liberal/labour, and blue = conservative). Like...why not just call the areas conservative? I'm surprised they didn't also describe the size of the region in units of NFL football fields.
  7. Game launches today! EDIT - Also, if you haven't bought it in Early Access yet, then you might want to wait until this afternoon when it launches. The devs have said there will be some kind of launch sale on Steam and EGS.
  8. Rename the Trudeau stuff (not sure if there is any Chretien stuff, yet), too. Rename everything. I don't care if people were progressive for their time, they aren't progressive (or even moderate) now. Remember their accomplishments and that they were tied to them, but don't celebrate anyone from the past.
  9. Morons are morons. If Trump went online tomorrow and said "That girl Jenny at the 31st Ave Burger King isn't very good at her job," he would be unleashing an army of angry chuds on her, probably even physical and in-person harassment, regardless if his remarks were crossing a line or not. When your voice has power, everything you say needs to be policed for the harm it can cause.
  10. I'm not knocking his public school stuff, people with bad beliefs can still do good things. But he advised on the idea of boarding schools for Indigenous children (which necessitates removing them from their homes), and placing them in the hands of Catholic administrators. He wasn't involved in the doing of it, but he approved of it. And like I said—it's time we removed everyone from that era from buildings and everything else. Even the best people from then would be considered massive regressives by now. We should celebrate old accomplishments, but not the people who did them, necessarily. There's absolutely zero harm done by removing Ryerson's name from the school, and any outrage is steeped in snowflakeism.
  11. On Ryerson (from wikipedia): So it sounds like he was in favour of (and gave advice for) taking and segregating Indigenous children from their families and other students, indoctrinating them into Christianity, and raising them to be field hands. Regardless if he lived to see that dream implemented...it was implemented.
  12. Also, none of us are going to know about the new thing until it's already well-adopted by teenagers. The fact that TikTok is now majority >30 means that we are close to a tipping point on something new arising for young people to flock to. Same thing happened to Facebook and Instagram. Not to say the old thing can't remain profitable, but it will stop its massive growth and will then shift to accommodate the older demographic.
