Nintendo games could stand to get a lot cheaper relative to standard AAA discounting, but they won’t, because they sell gangbusters still. That and lower production costs have made them riches while the rest of the industry suffers. I think they’ll hold off on a Games Pass-like service until it’s evident their consumer won’t follow them without it.

The Nintendo specific issue here is that they release lesser powered hardware, and don't do enough with their mid-cycle machines to have any pretension of keeping up with the times. But I think Nintendo already found their answer with the Switch. Hone in on the portability selling point and people won't care as much. The only thing that could spoil that for them is a legitimate competitor.

Here's an idea, why doesn't Nintendo use emulation / backwards compatibility to sell them again on modern platforms? Discount them heavily to encourage more people to buy them this time, like GoG does? Or are you not willing to entertain such a solution, and instead choose to be salty about pirates playing abandonware.

General Gaming Snap judging pixel art indies

Time Spent: 15 minutes Rating: ** Metroid 1 with better controls, but also slightly unresponsive. Bosses are bland, enemies are bland, graphics are bland, etc. Like Elliot Quest, it didn't need to exist, but its not nearly as offensive to play. There might be a decent game here still if you bare it out. -

Have it, haven’t tried it -
An older emulator on Mac was sued first. I used it back in the day, it was compatible with the discs and was amazing for the time. Sony ended up buying them, then shut it down. Connectix Virtual Game Station - Wikipedia EN.M.WIKIPEDIA.ORG Emulation has never not been a thing for PlayStation platforms. But it takes longer generally. Same with Xbox platforms. With modern games from both of them getting PC ports, there’s less incentive now.

@Spork3245 @legend The timeframe also seems a little screwy. I thought it was weeks after that Cloud joined up with Barrett and co.

Combat feels worse to me in 30fps mode. It’s enough of an action game that it matters. But I found that dialing the camera sensitivity down a notch makes the judder more tolerable, even if it makes the game feel a bit weightier. Think I’ll stick with it in graphics mode until I can’t take it anymore, or the game gets a proper patch. Also, that’s a pretty surprising start plot-wise. I’m here for it.

They advertised it as an open world game as opposed to linear Midgar. No one should be shocked by performance mode running worse than Remake.

I’ll replay the section I did in the demo at 30fps, see if I can stomach it better. FFXVI’s felt better from what I tried, and it’s jarring coming off 60fps in Intermission. Performance mode wasn’t super offensive to me, maybe because I’ve been playing some Switch games lately.

That's some BS right there. If they can remake Dead Space, this should have done just fine.

I'm literally relaying details from the video. No need to take offense. DF's opinion on graphical matters is second to none. They came to the same conclusion as you, just with more experience and detail to back it up, like resolution counts, comparisons to Remake and such.
