  1. Absolutely true! As always there is a sensible world, which is of course science fiction, and there is a mad world called Earth. In a sensible world, this issue wouldn’t be in play, but here…
  2. Hey, I know you guys are fighting for your country and all, but could you do it like, in a more chill manner because we have elections coming up and it would really be inconvenient to our narrative, cool? Thanks buds, we knew you would understand! -Uncle Sam's civilian liaison
  3. Some context on this article. These quotes were taking from a recent DDC. The point was to discuss the challenges game designers face. To read the title of this somewhat click bait article, you might think a current Bethesda employee was basically saying, LOL we threw this bad boy together, because you know it only takes 5 minutes when you only have 5 minutes! That is not the case, but what was said mirrors points other developers have shared across the industry, pointing to some questionable project management, bad timelines, possible cultural upheaval, and just general business fuckery. I also just think that frankly, space as the stage for this game, broke with this team's ability to do what they have historically excelled at, namely creating a fun sandbox RPG that just so happens to have a story...kinda. Starfield has a solid game in the bowels of its terrible interplanetary travel system and shyte UI. The scope of it served to dilute the impact of the story rather than enhance it. People are truly afraid for the next Elder Scrolls, but I'm not that worried, aside from the very real possibility that we will likely not see it until 2028. All anyone wants is more, and prettier Skyrim, with a very mod friendly box of code. Bethesda is certainly capable of delivering that!
  4. Fortunately this is the first and only time the French have left an unstable power vacuum.
  5. Stating an opinion by asking a question is rather high on my list. Examples: Is grinding in RPGs a waste of your time? Is Kingdom Hearts the best JRPG ever? Basically, 1 in 5 thread titles on Resetera.
  6. Looks great visually, though I would say many SC developed games have the same clean grandeur to their aesthetic, so this isn't much of a surprise. I've grown weary of MMOs, but until I see game play and systems explained, I won't write this one off.
  7. I expect you to be playing on Steam deck while seated in your new car!
  8. Starfield, for me, did not have the simple fun magic of of either an ES game or a FO game. It felt somehow overly processed and half baked at the same time. Its not a bad game, its just not a great game.
  9. Starfield's lead quest designer had 'absolutely no time' and had to hit the 'panic button' so the game would have a satisfying final quest | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM "It became very clear that we were missing the large final location that was going to tie the story together," says former lead quest designer Will Shen.
  10. Unreal Engine 5.4 Features Massive Performance Improvements - GPU Time 25% Lower in City Sample Console Test WCCFTECH.COM Epic unveiled Unreal Engine 5.4, the next major version of the game making tool, and it will feature massive performance improvements.
  11. All of the broad strokes (so far) are there, so its a pretty good adaption. Certain sub plot events are slightly reorder to support character development. The biggest difference is that the book had a LOT of thoughts unspoken that serve to fill in the world and its citizen's motives. The TV adaption doesn't have this luxury and so its down to the actors to convey much of this with body language and tone. That said, I think the cast is doing a great job with that angle and I could hardly be happier with the show! I will add that Blackthorn as a protagonist is a little more virtuous then he was in the book. Not a deal breaker, but it is a change to one of the book's main characters, and this could again be down to not hearing his thoughts like you get to in the book.
  12. Forgoing the mind numbing stupidity of that image's "meaning" for a moment, I have several issues with the construction methods on display here.
  13. The current mother of games may well die a thousand deaths over time, but something will always cast its gaze upon that void and seek to fill it. IF cost is the current knife that cuts the game boy's umbilical and in that action's wake, a sea of graves does rises, then all those bodies and soil will seed another crop to take its place in the fullness of time! Am I doing this right? am I swerving between incomprehensible and purple prose?
