  1. I enjoyed that a HELLUVA lot more than I thought I would and thank God Almighty that it ditched the pseudo-intellectual nonsense of the original trilogy for a vastly more straightforward narrative! Quite frankly, any "subversion" that this film depicted was so very focus-tested and corporate-approved that it might as well have been completely irrelevant, which is totally fine with me! NPH was freakin' fantastic!
  2. This man was one of the last true giants of the 20th century. Nobel Prize-winning anti-apartheid hero Desmond Tutu dies aged 90 WWW.REUTERS.COM Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and veteran of South Africa's struggle against white minority rule, died on Sunday at the age of 90.
  3. We watched this one today as well! I REALLY enjoyed this one quite a bit and thought it was definitely a bit more "mature" than most of Disney's recent animated fare!
  4. Because I'm feeling exceptionally generous as 2021 comes to its merciful conclusion, I've decided to celebrate the full Twelve Days of D1Pmas this year, starting today! As always, just post in this thread to be eligible for the RNG Gods to smile upon thee! For those who are confused, the traditional "Twelve Days of Christmas" represents the Catholic/Orthodox tradition that begins on Christmas Day (December 25) and ends on the Feast of the Epiphany (January 6). Of course, the United States being a nation founded by Protestants -- who are both heretical and stupid -- means that no one actually understands that!
  5. This season is unquestionably a SIGNIFICANT improvement in just about every aspect over the first. The only "major" facet of the first season that I feel is somewhat lacking in this one is some of Geralt's "levity" (such as it is), but I completely grasp that it's necessary for Geralt to convey the weight of the responsibility that his "fatherhood" of Ciri requires. Any other faults that I might have found are minor quibbles that simply aren't even worth mentioning. All-in-all, bravo to everyone involved with this season!

  7. Update: the anti-vaxxer was exposed to someone with Omicron and will not be attending the gathering. However, we will still not be attending as we want to make the hosts feel guilty/ashamed for inviting them in the first place. It truly warms my heart to see that the Steel family's version of the Christmas spirit (i.e., spiteful vindictiveness) is alive and well!
  8. Ahem. It's not any "day of Christmas" yet because the "Twelve Days of Christmas" begin on Christmas Day (December 25) and end on the Feast of the Epiphany (January 6). Of course, the United States being a nation founded by Protestants -- who are both heretical and stupid -- means that no one actually understands that!
