I highly recommend Mike Duncan's Revolutions podcast series about the Haitian Revolution. Mike says that researching that history not only made him cry, but shifted his political views towards the left. -

I'll second the Late Bronze Age Collapse Period as well! -
Beyond "mobilization", I have little doubt that the "nuclear stick" will be brandished in an attempt to intimidate Ukraine and its allies that an attack into the newly-integrated regions of "Novorossiya" will be viewed as an attack on the Rodina itself. Or at the very least, outright state that NATO infrastructure that facilitates the transfer of materiel to Ukraine that eventually is used in Novorossiya will be considered legitimate targets.

I genuinely do wish that something would come of this, but much like just about every eruption of unrest in Iran, it will fizzle out eventually. I've noticed that the Iranian government doesn't even really bother to engage in large-scale crackdowns during these periodic bursts of unrest as they know that they have limited longevity, so why bother making the effort to quash it?
