  1. Electronic Arts said during a financial call yesterday that Origin Access Premier, an upgraded version of its subscription-based Origin Access service that will provide full, unlimited access to EA games, will go live next week. More quietly, it also pulled the plug on Origin's "On the House" program, which provided free games to everyone—including non-Access subscribers—on an intermittent, time-limited basis.
  2. Every now and then, EVE Online players engage in a massive, absolutely fascinating war involving thousands of capital ships. Another one of these wars started last week. Eve Online is once again embroiled in a massive war (Polygon) The battle at UALX-3, in the Tenerifis territory, is likely just the beginning In EVE Online War, Spawn Camping Goes On For A Week (Kotaku) EVE Online Alliances Are Positioning For A Massive War Over the past week, the overwhelming majority of EVE Online’s player run coalitions have begun to band together and field some of the most powerful fleets that the game has ever seen. The game’s galaxy map is split along its North-South axis, with each side attempting to drive a vanguard strike deep into the heart of their enemies territory. In short, it’s looking like war—maybe the biggest one yet, which is saying something.
  3. Battlefield V’s epic Grand Operations mode, described by EA as “the ultimate multiplayer experience”, will not be available at launch. In a post on the game’s website describing the mode and how it will play, the publisher notes that the first Grand Operation will not begin until “shortly after launch.”
  4. Or the New York Times who has consistently failed to mention climate change in any of its articles related to the extreme global weather these last few weeks.
  5. That is absolutely what Kyio deserves: to be constantly reminded by a Force ghost that he simply can't measure up to Uncle Luke, his mother, or his grandfather. "Oh, so that's your grand plan, kid...I mean, 'Supreme Leader Ren'? Well, that's pretty adorable!"
  6. There is no need for "redemption" for Luke I'm hoping that he spends the entirety of IX mocking the hell out of Kyio Ren.
  7. The extreme heatwaves and wildfires wreaking havoc around the globe are “the face of climate change”, one of the world’s leading climate scientists has declared, with the impacts of global warming now “playing out in real time”
  8. I can confirm that 35X at DCA is the worst gate at any US airport.
  9. For those two components, that's correct. Excluding those two components, real final sales for domestic purchasers rose 3.9% in the second quarter.
  10. The U.S. economy accelerated to a 4.1 percent pace of growth in the second quarter, the fastest since 2014, letting President Donald Trump claim a win for his policies even though expansion is projected to cool. The effects of the trade situation can be seen here: Illustrating the volatility of some elements of GDP, net exports contributed 1.06 percentage point to the pace of growth, the most since 2013, partly on a surge in soybean shipments ahead of retaliatory tariffs. Inventories subtracted 1 point, the most since 2014, Commerce said, citing soybean stocks as well as those of drugs and sundries and petroleum and related products.
  11. You really, REALLY don't want me to do that.
  12. When we downloaded the .CSV file Members list from the Dreamhost server's Members directory to begin re-establishing user accounts, we noticed that "-Chris" was missing from the list entirely and that was the list that contained everyone's post count and reputation score. I downloaded a Member's list from the old server's SQL database and while "-Chris" was present on that list, that list does not contain the post count and reputation score. We noticed that there was another inactive user who also had a screen name that began with a "-" that was also not present on the .CSV file but was present on the SQL database. @Jason and I concluded that the .CSV file was interpreting the leading hyphen as a mathematical formula and was erroring out any user that had one.
  13. I really have no freakin' idea. I mean, I'm not opposed in the least to slapping Erdogan with sanctions -- I just wish it was for EVERYTHING ELSE that he's done.
  14. @DPCyric @Wild @thewhyteboar This was one of the strongest first seasons for any show that I'be seen in ages. It's also perhaps one of the most unflinchingly brutal!
  15. I made the prefix but forgot to activate it on The Spawn Point. It should be active there now.
