I don't think I've seen anyone on this board talk about Supraland yet.

This game scratches that new Metroid Prime itch I've had for years now, but does it in a way that is totally own thing.  It'd be an A-class first person puzzle game even if it wasn't a semi-open world.  But unlike the Witness, it doesn't ever make itself feel obtuse.  Secrets are hidden everywhere and rewards are constant. I have over 30 unfound chests of about 200 after I saw the credits roll.  It's just very clever, not unfair.

It's also got a bit of a BoTW-vibe since you can finagle your way almost anywhere.  I don't want to spoil what that is about, but there's way more freedom than you'd expect.  Even if you don't have your full toolkit.

Only flaws are that combat isn't all that great, or important.  Also, I twice managed to run into an invisible wall where the game told me I'd lock myself in an unsolvable zone with my current powers.  Couldn't they have built the walls higher or something?  Since it's a very small team (mainly 1 guy at the helm), there are also some budget constraints.  Don't expect grandiose boss fights.

Overall, a 9.5/10 game.  20+ hours of discovery and fantastic puzzles.  One of my favorite game worlds ever.  I'll be 100%-ing, just to know what the hell I missed.

Go play the demo.  Hopefully the game comes to consoles soon.

Downloading the demo this weekend, thanks for the tip and your 'review' sold me on it. Sounds great.

This took a really long time but I finally beat Yakuza 6. I started the game a year ago and had to shelve it due to time but just recently took 2 days off work (needed a break) and was able to finally finish it off the main story. My completion time was 21ish hours. =/

See you all in 1-2 years when I'm able to complete judgement (Just put it in the ps4 but don't have time to play today).

Cool but you better use the other thread because @Brick is going to give you a congratulatory "doesn't count!"

It's pinned to the top of the page so you won't have to look far. :p

I'm seriously blind but I don't see it. I only see 4 topics pinned in this area. :confused: I just took this as being the most recent thread for tackling your backlog. :(

* ~*D1P's Games of 2020*~
* The Free PC Games Thread - Hitman 1, Shadowrun Collection (EGS), The Division 1 (Uplay)
* D1Pcast Episode 33 - Xbox Leaks(Ft. Emblazon)
* Friend Codes, Gamer tags etc.

It's Games of 2020 - I guess it's kind of unclear from the start of the thread but that's basically the "just finished" thread for the year

@crispy4000

Played the Supraland demo for approximately three minutes tops before deleting it and just buying the whole game, it's that charming. I immediately knew this'd be good.

Ended up playing about four hours without even getting up. The constant stream of upgrades, secrets, cool and fun puzzles really glues me to it. This is a great game, you're right. Really fun and the soundtrack is great too and it's even surprisingly atmospheric. Thanks for the tip.

Hey you're welcome!  That's a common experience with the demo apparently.  I'm surprised I'm the first here to try it.
