skillzdadirecta
I have to get rid of some old stuff, an old smart TV that no longer powers on and an old laptop... same problem. What's the best way to dispose of this stuff so that I have some piece of mind lol?

You can take it to Staples or Office Depot for recycling, or your municipality should have an electronics recycling depot.

Reputator
I find a protected manattee habitat and dump in there. Along with my used motor oil and gallons of Draino I got for a great deal at Costco but didn't even need.
Chris-
A lot of self-storage places will collect stuff for local recycling facilities; if Wade's suggestions don't pan out, you can always call around and ask.
RedSoxFan9
I drop stuff off at a store like Best Buy and assume they send it to the landfill
Guest
The city recycling center here takes electronics on a particular day of the week because they contract the disposal to another firm. I’ve seen similar situations in other towns, so call before you go so you don’t waste a trip.
TheGreatGamble
If they work well, I give them to a local charity that gives them to people who need them, if not, I drop them off at one of the electronics shops that recycles them near here. silentbob
My Best Buy has a drop off at the front of the store and my locale Fire Department has an electronic recycling container for drop offs. Plus one of my local malls does an electronic recycling campaign every few months too.
