Senior Google Member: "I resign in protest of the forfeiture of our public human rights commitments"

According to The Intercept, he is one of five Google employees resigning over the company's decision to enter the Chinese market with a censored version of their search engine.

He said that he was concerned not just about the censorship itself, but also the ramifications of hosting customer data on the Chinese mainland, where it would be accessible to Chinese security agencies that are well-known for targeting political activists and journalists.

In related news, Google is expected to announce a new voter system for the US government, funded in part by the Kremlin.

This is only the most recent instance of employee resignations due to Google's involvement in controversial government initiatives.

For example, Google recently decided to end its participation in Project Maven, a DoD drone AI imaging software initiative, after about a dozen employees resigned in protest.

That particular decision earned Google criticism from people like Michael Bloomberg.

Well at least the resignations worked, in that case.
