Bloodporne Posted January 3, 2022 Share Posted January 3, 2022 Any of you playing Hunt: Showdown on console by any chance? I'm looking to get some other players in for a team. I just got it on sale I think...last week? It's been really difficult, at best, to even manage to survive a match and learn the world itself but despite my initial utter frustration, this game is something really unique and insanely addicting. It's probably the hardest and most unforgiving game I've ever played and I can barely land shots, let alone kills, on other players still but good god, the atmosphere, setting and gameplay loop is something else. I think it's only a must with friends if you're looking to go in with a steady team. I've been doing teams of three with random people and more often than not, after getting my footing just a bit at least, it works out. Also just figured out after making this post that the game has a very lively Discord with a PS4/PS5 specific 'Looking For Group' channel. Crytek hasn't implemented any sort of proprietary Hunt: Showdown account system, meaning the game has to rely on the built-in friends lists and invitation systems created by Sony and Microsoft. This means a PlayStation player cannot team up with someone using an Xbox, and vice versa. So I ended up going in the Discord and people were shockingly cool on there. I have a steady pool of about at least 8 to 10 people now from Discord that are playing all the time. If their team is full or so, I'll jump in a random match. Game is way cooler with a team and mic in my opinion but I've had some awesome moment where surprising cooperation with randoms created super memorable fights. I'll be honest, I don't think I've barely played anything but Elden Ring outside of Hunt this year. I've never played a more tense and exhilarating game. When they say "Hardcore" in the marketing lingo, they definitely mean that shit lol. I could tell you about it all day, I got into this in a major way, steamrolled everything else gaming-wise for me. Edit: Also wanted to add that in a recent dev stream they basically confirmed a next gen version is coming by the end of the year. It’s very mechanically interesting, but as soon as I started playing with other people, I was getting killed so quickly I couldn’t even tell you what happened.
