  1. Lol in the fivethirtheight state polls let's look at the current gap for most swing states: FL Biden +5.6 (49.3/43.6) MI Biden +7.3 (49.3/42.0) PA Biden +5.8 (49.4/43.6) WI Biden +6.3 (49.3/43.0) ---below this line doesn't matter--- NC Biden +1.8 (47.7/45.9) AZ Biden +4.3 (48.5/44.2) GA trump +0.4 (46.0/45.6) TX trump +0.9 (46.7/45.7) OH trump +0.2 (46.3/46.0) IA trump +1.0 (46.0/45.0) MN Biden +5.7 (50.0/44.3) And these are pretty consistent since April. So unless undecideds break massively towards trump, and Biden voters drop supporting him en masse, he's well on track to win, and the fundamentals (covid, the economy, health care, the three biggest issues per Gallup) are not favorable for trump
  2. Wouldn't even need that. There'd be an inevitable war between north and south anyway, because of the issue of escaped slaves and expansion into the unorganized territories west of the Mississippi. CA would have left with no secure link to the east. Doubtful Utah tries to join a divided continent, slaveholders to the south, moralizing anti Mormons to the North. DC would probably be in southern hands, or the coup that Lincoln engineered in MD would have to keep on in perpetuity. Who knows what other slave border states like KY would have done. Lots of possibilities! The one thing I know for almost absolute certain, should the CSA had survived it would have become, or at least tried to be, an imperialist slave state in the Caribbean and South America
  3. Since I just moved, I don't know anything about my polling place other than it is a church down the way. My old polling place had, pre-pandemic, about 8 voting booths crammed into a room no bigger than a large bedroom. Still had rather long lines, as it was a historically large % African American precinct. Not conducive to social distancing!
  4. Absentee then Dropbox. Elections office here in Richmond is a straight shot down the road for me
  5. And guess what happens to that house when, much more likely than if, they require Medicaid to pay for long term care services? If you said "they must spend down their assets, subject to certain rules, before Medicaid will pay for these services" you'd be correct. All that money you've been saving for your family your whole life, gone, because you need round the clock care because you have Alzheimer's
  6. 6 years ago, the worst thing in the history of our country happened.
  7. There is but enforcement is lacking and they're not perfect. I'm a little anxious of crowds masks or not right now
  8. Forgot this nugget. The cops did this so, like most of the violence after night 1, blame generally goes towards the cops, again
  9. Even beyond that. Anyone want to bet a hot headed kid is above throwing racial slurs to provoke something? I'm not taking that bet. There's too much we can't know
  10. Who says he didn't instigate either. Videos are good but the whole story is still missing
