If the GOP infested courts haven't found that paying your courts costs before being able to vote (and the state is under no obligation to tell how much you owe) isn't a poll tax, there's no way they'll find that a measly stamp cost is a poll tax. Because they're not calling it a poll tax it's fine! It may be functionally identical as a poll tax, but they're not calling it a poll tax, it's fine! Everything's fine!

It's worth repeating, once again, all of these little fuckers are heritage foundation freaks, they're the real deal, there won't be any more Kennedy's or David Souter's, they're going to all look exactly like Kav. Elite prep school, child of elite judges or lawyers, elite undergrad, elite law, clerking for scalia or thomas or whomever, heritage foundation goons all. Hypocrisy won't matter, intellectual dishonesty won't matter, overturning precedent won't matter, they're there for a singular reason: to roll back all social and material gains since reconstruction, and they're using the ultimate trump card in our system to do it: lifetime appointments to judicial positions where there is no recourse. And threatening to pack the courts, as FDR did in the 30's I fear will only embolden them instead of getting them to change tune. It's exactly why the courts need packed, or you will have openly right wing partisan judges on the bench for the next 50+ years, and with that any hope for a better tomorrow is gone.

It would that's why even if they were for it, it would be just as uphill a battle Congressional action won't happen (big fat maybe if the filibuster is gone, which is a longer shot than legalization) and Biden won't deschedule, he won't! He's only calling for rescheduling the drug, not descheduling!
-
Descheduling either requires the president/administration to do so, or have congress pass a bill, signed by said president, to remove it from the list of controlled substances. What Schumer is talking about here, and whatever congress does, is subject to congressional rules like the filibuster. I just don't see a Biden administration unilaterally descheduling!
-
It wholly irrelevant unless he can whip the caucus (and Joe biden) into doing away with the filibuster (and not vetoing the bill) This might be the closest thing to legalization and I only see maybe five republicans, tops, who could consider such a bill: Mike Lee, Paul, Mitch (kentucky has a big help industry), and uh....who knows. Might not be much more than that. Maybe cornyn should he win. That's about it though. Would manchin vote for it? Who knows!

Makes sense in that context. You can do a whole lot of interesting things, a lot more quickly, with python/pandas than you can with just running sql queries -

Obviously, but the point is that SQL often feeds into a python/pandas scripts that easily work with other tools in the python ecosystem. For that reason, pandas and sql are apples and oranges! There are sometimes similar functions and capabilities, but to my knowledge you can't really query a relational database without sql! Even the pandas read_sql_query function requires you to write a domain/database specific sql statement in order to use it.
