  1. IPS Default Grey is the most like old IGN, which means it's perfect.
  2. They are. That's why a bunch of business owners are crying about how "no one wants to work anymore." Americans toughened up and told their shitty bosses they weren't going to work jobs for the shit wages they were being offered.
  3. And even then, Humvees or Black Hawks really aren't that big a deal for the Taliban to get ahold of. It's not some high tech thing that's going to change the Taliban's ability to rule the country or fight. They can get Hiluxes or jeeps or older Russian helicopters... It's just a political loss for us and people clamoring for us to "bwuh, why didn't we keep them from getting those" are just trying to save face.
  4. That's at least some forward thinking. Well done. This is what infrastructure spending should be, really. Everyone talks roads and bridges. No one thinks about drainage or sewer or clean water.
  5. I work on a program for a client that plans projects to reduce overflows in the sewer system. It started out at $1.5 billion for 10 years. Now we're at 12 years and it's closer to $2 bln. Depending on the city and the extents of the sewer overflows... that sounds about right! This client I work for is doing this under a consent decree from the EPA... so they HAVE to.
  6. Most cities just don't prioritize some infrastructure spending though. And I don't mean the actual construction costs for projects--I mean the actual studies or design proposals just never get explored beyond "it's going to flood X amount. You should do something about that!"
  7. Well. I had completely forgotten about this... And cancelled my Netflix last week I'm going to have to see if Seinfeld on 24/7 is worth $15 a month.
  8. According to all the DoD sources I've seen, all the weapons and vehicles were 'rendered inoperable.' I do not know the specifics of what that means, but I cannot wait to see a C-RAM on the back of a Hilux. This is a C-RAM, by the way:
  9. I was a fan of WTYP before it had a channel and was still on donoteat's channel It truly is great. But also, I figured the US all had standard rail gauges. Either way... it's almost as if national infrastructure should be... nationalized.
  10. I... hadn't thought of this. Why the fuck AREN'T they requisitioning commuter trains to evacuate people?
  11. That's the shit I was expecting. I have a feeling that the historical conclusion to Trump's coup plans will, ultimately, be relegated to the same classification as the Business Plot that Smedley Butler uncovered. Specifically, that "they didn't really move toward doing anything with this--it was just all talk!" Except there's even more evidence here...
  12. I can't remember who said this, but it was either a congressman or a SCOTUS judge... but they were reviewing some case of whether something was or wasn't determined to be 'pornography.' Anyway, the line they gave was something like "I can't define what it is, but I know it when I see it." I feel like that applies to the Nevermind cover. A naked baby is not pornography.
  13. Of all the entire Marvel universe, I cannot think of a 'superhero' more bland and uninteresting than whatever ScarJo's character is called. I honestly think she might be doing this to burn the bridge and move on with her career.
  14. Or that you aren't aware of the structural deficiencies of the country and just want things to 'get better' without changing too much.
  15. I have a list of Democrats that should self-execute, if you know what I mean.
  16. This occurred near me. I've driven through Waverly many times and I'm really surprised that it got as bad as it did. But the surprising thing was that it got so bad so fast. I've never seen it rain that hard for that long ever before--harder even than in the Nashville Flood of 2010. Waverly (and that entire watershed) saw 17 inches of rain in 24 hours. That's like... off the charts. And the land around there is all hollows and hills. It's truly tragic and one of the worst flooding disasters in this state's history.
