  1. Oh, I know. I just disagree with the prior posts that it's some sort of hallmark for "new atheists" or whatever. There's bad apples in every bunch.
  2. I reallllllly don't know how I can elaborate further on my position, but I'll try, though I'll mostly be repeating myself. Again. I'm more ambivalent on the death penalty in theory. I think some people commit crimes so horrific and they'll never be rehabilitated and will always pose a danger to society. In which case, they can remain locked away for the rest of their lives to protect society. But if they die, I'm not going to be bothered by it. There's an argument to be made on what's more cruel, a life in confinement or death, but that's another rabbit hole to go down. In practice, the death penalty primarily affects minorities, the poor, and generally disadvantaged, so it's not really just in our justice system. I also think the system isn't perfect and innocent people have been executed and I'm not okay with that. It's also a really expensive practice, far more than life in prison, so it's impractical on that front, too. And regardless of what crimes people have committed, I'm not comfortable with people being tortured before they die, which can happen in these executions. So in practice, I'm generally opposed to the death penalty. I think there are too many issues with it, so I'd be fine with it going away completely. That doesn't mean I care about white supremacists or baby rapists/killers or whatever other scum of society like that and I'm not bothered they're no longer existing.
  3. I think there are some crimes so horrific and the perpetrators so unremorseful and they can't be rehabilitated. In which case, I'm fine with locking them away from society for the rest of their lives, but if they no longer breathe air, then I'm not gonna get torn up about it. Like I said, I've detailed my thoughts on the death penalty numerous times. Okay, but did you read what I actually wrote?
  4. I thought I made myself fairly clear. And I've detailed my thoughts on the death penalty in numerous threads.
  5. I don't think any religion should be above criticism/ridicule, let alone the fastest growing and second largest in the world. You can criticize it without being a racist or a bigot. We need to stop conflating the two.
  6. I guess I didn't quite interpret it that way. In my view, I don't necessarily have a moral objection to in for certain cases. That scope is very narrow, though. Some people I'm just not concerned if they no longer breathe air on this earth. However, there are numerous problems with implementing the death penalty in a fair and unbiased manner, it's super expensive and we still run into issues where people are executed in a rather inhumane manner. So in practice I generally oppose it. I guess that's how I took Vic's comment. He can feel free to elaborate on his statement, though. I could be wrong. @Mr.Vic20
  7. Well, my copy is already on the way. It doesn't have to do anything new, as long as I have some fun with it. If I hate it, I can't recoup most of my expense since I got it for cheaper. I just want something to grab me and get me back into gaming because I've really dropped off the last several months.
  8. I'd post your icon if I weren't in mobile and had time to figure it out
  9. I know, it's crazy that I think exclusives are games you can only play on one platform.
  10. And yet they're two entirely different time periods and environments and thus have different appeals.
  11. Kinda rich you're calling me overly sensitive. I've backed up all my arguments and/or gladly clarified them all during the thread. It kinda just sounds like you're not happy with someone having different tastes and disagreeing with you on a company you're quite fond of.
  12. I thought you were smarter than that. I'm clearly not rolling my eyes at the actual harm being done to people all over the world. Good grief.
  13. Yeah, I tried a lot of those at your recommendation a few years ago when I bought an Xbox. They didn't really do much for me, though I suppose I could see the appeal back then. I ended up trading back the 20 or so games I'd bought and now the only games I have for it are Castlevania Curse of Darkness(we got it sealed for $5 and it's Castlevania, duh) and Silent Hill 2 Restless Dreams(the definitive version of that game). I guess because I didn't play them back then, I couldn't form an attachment now, coupled with the fact that era doesn't really do much to hold up for me. Like I said, though I played the hell out of PS2 back then, most of the games now don't do much for me. I've got 32 games for that system, but it's one of my smaller sets and most of those games are in series I've long had an attachment to, like Silent Hill, Suikoden, Dragon Quest, Shin Megami Tensei.
  14. Maybe, barely? The point is, it's like a goddamned competition. "My group is the most persecuted!" "No, mine is!" And it's pretty damn weak, coming from a privileged, conservative, white, Christian dude in a country where Christianity dominates all others. All these religions suck and do their own damn fair share of persecuting others at the same time they're being persecuted elsewhere. The race to see who can be the most persecuted makes me roll my goddamned eyes.
  15. lol, you are sooooooo dishonest. Long before you came in with your persecution complex, I'd discussed how horrific these attacks are. You literally came into this thread to whine about the victims being referred to as "Easter worshipers," a factually correct term, by the way, and proclaimed that Christians were the most persecuted group in the world, which is just silly. Oh, and despite your faux outrage over the term, you repeatedly ignore the fact that your own side referred to them as such and doubled down on your stupidity. Puh-lease.
  16. I mean, fine, get picky, but I also said "I'm sure the original Xbox had some good exclusives." I was in high school during that time and didn't have money for multiple consoles and didn't play a ton of games in general then. I sorta forget about the original Xbox, as do a lot of people, it seems. Looking back, I don't even hold much nostalgia for the PS2 nowadays and I played the shit out of that thing. For whatever reason, that gen just didn't stick with me.
  17. I call 'em like I see 'em. You're getting pretty emotional yourself, crying about how rough Christians have it, so much more persecution than other groups. I just really have a lot of contempt for privileged Christian boys whining about how persecuted they are.
