  1. Asmongold had a similar take, as did a few others I saw. Most people seem to be really impressed with it. I personally dont love 11 hours of cutscenes but as long as it's engaging and everything else is good I am fine with it.
  2. I have an old 55" 1080p LG that I bought probably 10 years ago. I'll upgrade when I can get a large 4K TV with a high refresh rate for like $600 I mostly game on my PC monitor anyways.
  3. Posted this earlier but worth dropping again now that the demo is out: Final Fantasy 16 Cutscenes Longer Than Entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy Runtime GAMERANT.COM Square Enix producer Naoki Yoshida reveals that the upcoming Final Fantasy 16 will have several hours of cutscenes. It sounds like it might be pretty front-loaded with story cutscenes though.
  4. It tells the FF1 story but it adds a bit extra. This game is super fun but using FF1 as the backdrop really holds it back. The story in FF1 lies somewhere between trash and completely non-existent.
  5. You're not mean, you're just fucking annoying. I'm willing to bet most of us were edgey teenagers, average age here is probably 40. Nobody wants to deal with a petulant child. You troll here because you are probably a weak person in the outside world who cowers at any type of confrontation so you come on the internet to act like a big man because it's the only "power" you have in your life.
  6. I don't post about games I don't like and on the very rare occasions that I do, I offer CONSTRUCTIVE criticism about what I don't like and how it could be improved. I don't just shitpost over and over in the assassins creed topic because I don't like that game because it's a silly waste of time and serves no purpose. Like serously, grow up. @Xbob42 Has been pretty critical of the game going back awhile and I gave him a little ribbing for it but he gives things a fair chance and offers constructive criticism.
  7. Except he doesn't have an opinion on the demo, he had a concluded that the game sucked 6 months ago (maybe longer) you can go back and read him calling the game shit numerous times way before demo came out. Like it's kind of pathetic to keep posting over & over about something you hate. It's bringing me back to the IGN Vestibule days. Most of us grew up, some apparently didn't.
  8. I don't really care but why are you constantly being negative about something you don't like or care about? I don't go posting on anime forums telling everyone how stupid & shitty anime is. It's not for me & that would be a massive waste of my time, but here you are...
  9. Yeah I don't know I guess I just play much slower (and also have a bad memory) I've replayed ff7 literally 10 times and my file is always over 100 hours because I go for 100% completion, 3X Master Materia, full 99 party and on two ocassions I even maxed everyone's stats to 255 by morphing enemies that turn into the stat boost items.
  10. You can rush through it probably 10-12 but first playthrough yeah it's going to take most people around 20. The bulk of the game is on disc 2, like 70% of it. Disc 3 is just the final dungeon.
  11. It ends the same place disc 1 on ps1 ends, you leaving midgar. That was like 20 hours in the original, they stretched it to 40 in remake
  12. Intergrade is just DLC, you dont need to buy a new game to play it, and it wasn't even cheaper to buy them together iirc
  13. lol like Bacon said I only mentioned it twice and yeah it's an outlier too but Cyber Punk sold 20 million, Elden Ring sold 20 million, Skyrim sold 30 million, Monster Hunter world sold 20 million, FF7 remake is nearing 20 million. The point being big action RPG's are about 3 times as popular as big turn-based RPG's in recent years even if you exclude the outliers on both sides. You guys are making me play devils advocate here. Again I PERSONALLY like the turn-based games more and would love another one but I also understand why they've decided not to go that route anymore.
  14. I didn't say it doesn't count, I said it's an outlier because it's a cultural phenomenon. It's the same for Mario vs. some generic platformer. It would be ludicrous to compare Mario to Ratchet & Clank. Rift apart sold 1.1 million copies, Odyssey sold 20 million. Mario is ubiquitous, even non-gamers are very familiar with him. Are we really going to sit here and say "everyone loves platformers!" because of a single outlier? You slap the name Mario on golf, racing, etc. and all the game sell like gangbusters because the IP is that popular. Final Fantasy is a well known brand among gamers... not a single god damn person who doesn't identify as a "gamer" knows what that is.
