  1. I don't listen to any gaming talk shows, but there was this kinda awkward but very fun e3 interview years ago between Jeff and some zoomer and millennial game journalists (mostly Polygon and Kotaku staff). I genuinely would listen to every episode of a weekly show version of that.
  2. They're by definition behaving kinda like terrorists...hmmm...
  3. A lot of people take media that spreads misinformation about covid at face value, lmao, so that's another dumb take. You need to do more research on how much of an audience Joe Rogan's show has and how influential he is. Obviously we're in a time with plenty of misinformation, and left-leaning sources, while not as religious about it as right leaning ones, are also susceptible to it, but believing the potential widespread harm of occasional slightly inaccurate reporting is worse than when the most influential podcaster in the country enables swathes of bad critical thinkers to spread disease by endorsing goop tonics over vaccines during a pandemic is kind of a weird hill to die on Like nobody's saying Rogan needs to behave like the HR department of comedy once he has that much of a platform, but to put it in perspective, even if his anti-vax, anti-mask, anti-social distancing talking points are intended as a joke on segments of his audience, best case scenario he's still influencing a fuckton of them to give innocent people a disease for no reason. If a hacky publicity stunt (the most charitable interpretation) best case scenario literally results in spreading disease for no reason, maybe it's not the best time to do it? I guess this needs to be explained lmao The world would objectively be a better place if Rogan fucked off into a sensory deprivation chamber last year and stayed put until 2025.
  4. A lot of media does though? Including the video I linked (not that Vaush doesn't have plenty of bad takes as well). Seems kinda weird and absolutist to say otherwise. Or he had it earlier and waited to test negative and intended this all as an elaborate "bit" or something. The Roganverse has gotten so batshit it forces you to almost think like a conspiracy theorist just to parse out which info from an instagram post - that in any other context would be serious & honest (health update of the host) - could be most truthful.
  5. Even if he took the version meant for humans, would you say it might be a fucked up amount of irresponsible for someone with the influence and audience he has to endorse it as an effective treatment for Covid, or nah?
  6. I know a lot of users here are a smidge too boomery to even know who the new generation of political commentators are, but this Vaush clip that sums up my thoughts better than I can is a fairly comprehensive take on how much Rogan's actions contribute to making the pandemic worse. Definitely worth a click/view:
  7. Arizona father held after threat to zip-tie school principal over Covid rules | Arizona | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Parent upset son would miss trip threatened ‘citizen’s arrest’ but elementary school principal Diane Vargo called police
  8. Surging COVID-19 cases dampen U.S. consumer confidence, house prices post record gains WWW.REUTERS.COM U.S. consumer confidence fell to a six-month low in August as worries about soaring COVID-19 infections and higher inflation dimmed the outlook for the economy.
  9. One of the few times in several years he wasn't busy fellating Elon Musk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  10. COVID long-haulers may be at risk for severe kidney disease | CIDRAP WWW.CIDRAP.UMN.EDU Even those who had mild COVID-19 are at increased risk for major declines in kidney function.
  11. You cruel bastards. Is it really so funny? These anti-vaxer conspiracy theorists who willfully contributed/contribute to spreading deadly disease are still humans, regardless of such behaviors. You don't think it's sad they're pwning themselves? Have you no heart? Joking aside, aren't you still a libertarian? Joe Rogan isn't a thought leader to you?
  12. I can no longer say Joe Rogan never gave me a genuine laugh (hope he doesn't die of course, etc) edit: I really don't! I just want him to be too violently ill to do podcasts for a few years
  13. I think they're just concerned about having to take the medication for another ten months to safely wean off it no matter what the doctor says since missing doses abruptly can also result in severe health problems, but it's possible there might be more options too. Anywho worse things happen in the world so the overall consensus itt that it's not something to take too seriously (excluding biggie's post since he might be expressing it ironically) is probably right tbh ^_^
  14. Technically no lol, I got covid because someone I interacted with didn't believe in using masks and later admitted they had it Luckily nothing too serious, lack of taste and smell were as bad as my symptoms got and I've since been vaccinated so that should be that. Anywho the question in OP was actually something I was asked the other day. They hit me with it when I wasn't ready so I had no idea how to respond and still didn't hours later so I thought I'd post it here and see what happens. There's already some pretty solid advice so far I didn't think of (journaling symptoms to show to a doctor, calling doctor by phone to get an opinion asap, etc). ^_^
  15. Who is this game for? Is there more to the gameplay loop than what's shown in that clip?
  16. I member that old game Anywho, some gameplay footage of this one I guess 90% of what you do is go around and mindlessly fuck shit up?
  17. Hades feels like the best of oldschool Blizzard games but modernized and trimmed of all fat. RE8 is pretty good so far, but difficult for me to connect to on a story/character level. That intro was unexpectedly gripping though. Psychonauts is my GOTY so far. I've always been a fan of DF's output and it feels like a quantum leap forward of progress on everything that makes their games fun. I'm pretty sure I've played that Ninja Gaiden remaster trilogy more than anything else this year. lol Been waiting on it even longer than a Psychonauts sequel, so glad to finally have it available, even if it's the lesser ninja versions. Aside from these (Excluding NG:MNC and Hades of course) I think the new Oddworld is the only other 2021 release I've played, (I'm roughly thirty minutes in). Kena, Battlefield, Yakuza:LAD, Demon's Souls, R&C are at the top on my play next queue right now.
  18. Ever since getting my digital projector Psychonauts is taking up most of my gaming time. It's such a blast on all levels - visual, narative, gameplay, etc - and feels like the most fully realized DF game to date.
  19. wow that first part (journaling everything they experience) didn't even occur to me and sounds like a good call. would you say should they see a physician before contacting their clinic about it?
  20. what if any health benefit would there be to only eating meat (without veggies or fruit, i get the cutting carbs part)?

    question

If you've been taking psychiatric medication for a decade that you became dependent on (unable to sleep if you miss a dosage and there could be more serious health problems if you don't ween yourself off one month per each year you've been taking it) and you recently noticed symptoms that match descriptions and pictures of a rare side effect that could be/likely is fatal, what would you do?
