I'm just surprised that it is so easy to implement Ray Tracing... I was not expecting that.

How do I convince the wife to agree to a $800 video card purchase.... Don't think a $1,200 card will even be part of the conversation.

Didn't realize that there were this many rumours of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Anthem, Division 2 supporting Ray Tracing.... Edit: And Battlefield V

Edit: I am an idiot, misread it.

I believe that AMD has the consoles locked up for the foreseeable future -- so unless AMD also goes this direction, it will be hard for it to hit the mainstream. Will developers really incorporate Ray Tracing in their engines before a critical mass of people have these cards?

I believe that Ray Tracing is the "future" of graphics -- but probably won't be mainstream for many years. That said, I've read that GTX may stay around with the 2060 due to it's slower ray tracing performance... Rumours are that it may be SLIGHTLY faster...

The combat is actually one of the best parts of the game after you acquire a variety of weapons. The first couple of hours are a little slow, and I definitely found myself underpowered. But later.... fighting a Thinderjaw for the first time was so exhilarating.

It was pretty evident with your references to the collectibles from AC1/2, rather than the more substantive side content from AC:O.

I think I spent close to 70 hours playing Origins and it's DLC...

They don't do driving/racing better than Forza Horizon 3 and they don't have anything that comes close to the ship-to-ship combat in ACIV. Their western/Cowboy stuff is second to none.

I didn't have much time to write my response earlier. The Forza Horizon series is by far my most played series of games over the last 5 years. Every year they come out, I am absorbed for about 2 months. The driving is a great balance of arcade and sim, the challenges are fun, and there are tons of great cars to upgrade. It just makes driving so FUN. No other games even try to do this. For this reason, to me, Playground Games is the best open world developer.
