Cox and Century Link serve the Las Vegas area, but only Cox is in my neighborhood, which means that's my only high speed choice. But like I said, it may make sense for me to go with Starlink in the future (if we stay in this neighborhood) because Cox is costing us over $150 a month for just internet.

The network isn't fully built out yet. I think when you sign up right now (which is still in beta AFAIK), they make it clear there will be periods of no connectivity due to no satellite being overhead. This is one of the reasons why I passed on being a user at this point. Although my Cox internet is expensive, it's fairly reliable. I WFH enough and am attending school online so I need a consistent connection. I'll probably reconsider Starlink in a year or two once they get more sats up.

Many of you ITT have said awful things about people or groups - including the fact that you would like to kill them, or at least see them be killed. It's also interesting that many of you support the creation of laws that would make those words illegal to say. I always knew liberals were not actually for freedom of speech, and this is just further proof. A bunch of fascists on the CEB. -

We would regularly experience brutal temperatures on the aircraft carrier while on deployment. On top of the fact that we'd be doing circles in the Persian Gulf in the summer, the engine room had no air conditioning. Instead, it had ventilation ducts that would draw in outside air. If the outside air happened to be 110 degrees, then that's the minimum temperature in the engine room. Add in all of the steam power equipment, it was usually much hotter. At our feed pumps (steam driven), I regularly saw temps in excess of 130 degrees. You could drink a few gallons of water while on a 4 hour watch and not have to go to the bathroom once.
