  1. You have to stay active and keep all party members active too. That means making sure you're using their abilities whenever they can. If you really need someone's ability, like a heal, it's useful to switch to them to fight because when you're controlling a character and doing normal damage you get ATB faster. There's also the effect that the enemy AI is more biased to attack the PC. So switching between your party members regularly is good because it pulls the AI away each time. If you really want to optimize, you can pipeline things. Abilities usually take a short amount of time to go, so what you can do is do damage with one character until you're ready to do an ability. As soon as you activate it, then swap to another party member to get some hits in and advance their ATB faster. Rinse wash and repeat. That said, it's fine to change the difficulty if you need to. You can also always keep it on normal for the regulars and drop down to easy for the bosses.
  2. It’s not actually a remake of the original. The story is different this time and Bacon isn’t a fan of those differences and reason for those differences. The below isn’t really a spoiler and you should feel free to read it, but I’ll put it in spoilers anyway for those who haven’t played it but were big fans of the original and still haven’t played it yet.
  3. I'd need to investigate the rest of Philippines cuisine to say say for sure, but I'm sympathetic to this opinion!
  4. Fish and chips in fine, but no where near enough to salvage their cuisine. I've never had Balut, and was unfamiliar until googling. That certainly seems like a low point
  5. Glad you're enjoying it. I had original thought you would like it since you were initially psyched by FFXVI's combat until it fell thin since FFVIIR does a much better job of straddling action and strategy (and character customization). However, you fell off it pretty quick initially. What's changed your mind?
  6. I think we can also all agree that English cuisine is the worst, unless it's actually Indian being served in England.
  7. It doesn't matter where a dish "originated." If your country is doing it right, there will be continual cultural exchange from many places that influences and changes dishes, rendering it impossible to give an exclusive "origin." However, Italian cuisine is still awesome, whether "pizza" originated there or not. Last I visited Rome, I enjoyed everything I had. Same goes for French cuisine (though I have not visited France, yet.) Europeans also do bread so much fucking better, in that it's actually easy to get quality bread.
  8. As others said, it's a direct continuation of the first part. The demo is just covering a part that's also in the original FF7 where Cloud is retelling extremely important events of the past that will make you better understand Sephiroth -- the villain of the story. And the remake is apparently going to spend more time building up Sephiroth than the OG did. Since you have three weeks, you should at a minimum watch the cutscenes from part one or you're going to be very lost. FWIW, the original game is highly suggestive that Cloud gets some action later in the game. And there is a reason he's kind of out of sorts right now. Not sure how they're going to handle that in the remake, but it might not be until part 3.
  9. Finished the demo. I'm all in, but there was never any doubt of that. Cool to see this sequence also knowing what it actually is and all the hints, but remastered to such a high quality. And the sound track continues to be fire.
  10. I still have tons more game left, so my mind might change, but my feeling is this is a very solid update that brings a lot of the polish of P5 to it. But there are definitely some limitations in design where P5 clearly advanced. The dungeons in P5, of course, were much better. But beyond that, P5 did a much better job getting you invested in each part because every part had a new villain that they built up tied directly to one of the character's plight. It made everything much more meaningful. And it progressively scaled to crazy heights, but took its time getting there. In P3, you're just kind of going through the dungeon cause, well, the shadows seem like a problem. But there is no hook for each segment. P5 also just has much better music. I'm enjoying what's in P3R, but it's more repetitive and just doesn't slap as hard.
  11. Haven't had a chance to play the demo but I'm so hyped for this. It's been confirmed that the series will be three parts, and while where this one ends isn't the traditional end of the second disc, but they've already said elsewhere they've reordered things so it's not really the same.
  12. I think she's just not made up or glamourous looking. But that fits the theme of the game. She looks like she should in that world. Aloy is primarily focused on function, not aesthetics.
  13. I'm still very early (will play more today), but so far I'm much more optimistic. I tried to play 4 when it released on PC and while everything outside the dungeons was great, I also just couldn't take how boring the dungeons were compared to the excellent dungeons in 5. 3 appears to be going the route of one long random dungeon you keep traversing (going up higher and higher) and it's not going to be in 5's ballpark, but it's still much more visually exciting than the extremely boring and fogged corridors of 4. It feels closer to mementos in 5 than the corridors of 4. The combat itself is also good. Feels more like 5 and all the flair they've added to it makes it feel much closer to 5. 5 is still a bit more visually interesting, but this is a commendable update.
  14. Breaking the rule to share this one clip from the video. This angers me so much. No one deserves this, but Laura is a such a sweet person it's rage inducing.
