  1. The only villains in games whose names I can freely recall are David Cage and Bobby Kotick. If I saw Yves' name I'd remember he was the Ubisoft guy, if you'd asked me who the Ubisoft guy was without priming me first, I couldn't come up with Yves.
  2. Again I make no claims about logical consistency here. As I've said, Ubisoft absolutely sucks and I'll buy the next Assassin's Creed game. Maybe it's because it's easier with the Potter IP because JKR is a more singular figure and it feels like there's one throat to choke even though that's not true? Maybe if the AC franchise was made by Mr. Assassin Q Creed who slagged trans people I'd find myself compelled to not buy the games? Or maybe it's because JKR is "loud" about her terfness and Ubisoft leadership at least outwardly condemns their own shiftiness to some lousy, mealy-mouthed extent? Or maybe it's because I don't think anyone is looking at the shit that happens at Ubisoft and saying the leadership there might have a point? Or maybe, embarrassingly enough, one person being an open terf upsets me more than a company cultivating a culture of abuse? I don't know, I haven't interrogated it thoroughly. I'm just riding my vibes. And not to pick on Dodger, but the "for every burger vegans don't eat, I'll eat two!" perspective is dumb.
  3. So I checked this. Germany’s Laws on Antisemitic Hate Speech and Holocaust Denial WWW.PBS.ORG A troubled history is alive in Germany — both in a resurgence of far-right ideology and in changes to the laws designed to combat that extremism. Some of these laws date back to the 19th century. The slope in Germany at least doesn’t seem to be especially slippery.
  4. The notion that we most consume something that has a shitty creator associated with it because the people that work to support that IP aren’t shitty is a lousy take. I absolutely appreciate that there are almost certainly incentives tied to the game’s critical and commercial performance but that isn’t a compelling enough reason to continue to chuck money at JKR. And this is videogames man, you’ve got options. If someone is starving and they get offered Chick-Fli-A, they should eat the damn chicken. There’s no shortage of good YA IPs, there’s no shortage of good videogames coming out.
  5. Get fucked terfs. ‘Fantastic Beasts’: How Scandal and Controversy Have Derailed the Wizarding Franchise VARIETY.COM Through casting choices gone wrong, creative shortfalls and diminishing ticket sales, "Fantastic Beasts" has become a headache for Warners.
  6. If unemployment is so low why do I see so many help wanted signs? Checkmate, libs.
  7. Isn’t the main reason to play the corn farming game subsidies?

  11. I spent a good portion of high school writing erotic and romantic poetry to someone I had a crush on. It worked.
  12. It’s just going to be a red “REPUBLIKKKAN TERRITORY” with a blue bubble near Orlando called Groomsville or Pedophile World or some shit.
  13. I don’t like it in general. But have there been similar laws on the books in Germany and if so has anyone slid down that slope?
  14. Gizmodo doing the lord's work with their image choice Elon Musk Not Joining Twitter's Board Anymore in Shock Reversal GIZMODO.COM Musk fans speculate the billionaire wants to buy a larger slice of company, something he'd be prohibited from doing while serving on the board.
  15. Musk is peak libertarian tech bro, so of course he sucks just incredible amounts of ass.
  16. IIRC there was some chatter about how the nature of the character would allow the show to not need to rely on the broader MCU, and that Moon Knight would eventually show up in other MCU projects. I think that language (which I'm not quoting directly), there being no direct references to the MCU so far, and the fact that this phase is leaning into the multiverse is causing people to read the tea leaves a bit.
