The books are more extreme than the show in many respects. It's Garth Ennis trying to outdo himself. He succeeds, but I don't know that the result is all that good.

I don't mean that it wasn't "shocking" at all, I just don't think it's particularly wild compared to other episodes of this show.

Well yes of course, we all wish we could manifest, conjure, or vote for better candidates. But VOTE MORE, DEMS rings particularly hollow when the there’s a Democratic POTUS and house, and the Democrats control the Senate, and shit like this happens.

More than one thing can be true. More Democrats should vote more often than they do, it’s also completely reasonable to be exhausted by shit candidates and shit elected representatives.

Also if you lose a game because of a missed, last second field goal, blaming only that and ignoring everything else that happened up until that point is dumb.

This is… not a good take. Voter turnout in America is terrible across the board, it’s just slightly less so for Republicans to an extent that impacts things. I don’t think that is just a semantic nitpick; Democrats have won almost every national popular election in my lifetime. At some point it becomes reasonable for Sisyphus to complain about pushing the rock up the hill, especially when Zeus is right there and could do something. And not for nothing but Manchin and Sinema are like… right there. Democrats DID show up.

I don’t think there’s any way these clowns engage in this absolute farce without complete certainty that upcoming elections will go in favor of Republicans. That’s not to say that they necessarily will but these people are cowards and the only way they’re firing rockets is if they feel they’re safe in a bunker somewhere.
