The difference is Hunter is actively trying to not be a parent. If Hunter was even somewhat involved and didn't want the child in the limelight, completely his call. But him not being involved creates a void where the relationship is now between the mother and the Biden family. If that strains the relationship between Joe and Hunter, so be it, you prioritizes the welfare of the child in accordance with the only active parent's wishes.
