  1. Didn't Disney massively shrink the original canon galaxy? I recall something about 1,000 sectors each with 50 systems in the original.
  2. This is officially a murder investigation now. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2023/08/31/elderly-womans-death-blamed-attack-nc-that-cut-power-45000 Elderly woman’s death blamed on attack in N.C. that cut power to 45,000 - The Washington Post WWW.WASHINGTONPOST.COM North Carolina’s medical examiner ruled an 87-year-old’s death a homicide after her oxygen machine lost power following attacks on power stations in her area.
  3. His staff put that chair behind him so they could sit him down quickly if he fainted, they knew this was a risk today. Elder abuse.
  4. What was that wild western style fighter console game way back when, reminded me of that. edit- Crimson Skies
  5. How dare you. That was my alma mater East Carolina University, not UNC. I actually knew the kid, became an instant campus celebrity. Umbrella, not gun, causes lockdown at ECU WWW.WRAL.COM East Carolina University was locked down for about three hours Wednesday after people reported seeing a man with an assault rifle walking casually on a main thoroughfare near the Greenville campus. The item the man was carrying was, in fact, an umbrella.
  6. Active Shooter at UNC Chapel Hill, suspect at large. I was there 2 weekends ago... University of North Carolina police respond to 'an armed and dangerous person on or near campus' | CNN WWW.CNN.COM Police at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill are responding to an “armed and dangerous person on or near campus,” according to an alert from the university on Monday.
  7. So what's the obviously bullshit weight do to all the bets that were made? Everyone get a refund?
  8. No but he snuck his other kink, police escorted convoys off doing legally questionable things.
  9. You can tell when he's kind of checked out of a story though. Last few Yellowstone seasons vs 1883.
  10. Afghanistan: Evacuating from an airport in the middle of a dense city was insane. We should have kept Bagram and figured out how to get people out from there. Border: The border between Gaza and Egypt is tiny, less than 8 miles long. One side is controlled by the Israeli Army, the other by the Egyptian Army, neither likes the Palestinians. They can't control that border to stop the smuggling of weapons into Gaza. The idea we can control the US Mexican border, which is 2,000 miles long, is fantasy. Especially when the cartels are funded by the American drug addict.
  11. Yup. Round 1 was with HR where one of the questions was what were my needs in terms of compensation (wtf). Round 2 was with the manager. 3 with the Team Lead under the manager, and the 4th was with the Director and another manager. My bosses in my current department all reached out to them after each interview to recommend me.
  12. Ugh, interviewed 4 rounds for an internal position switching over to IT, didn't get it.
  13. Would Hirohito have survived a coup without the nukes and would a military junta have been capable of surrender without Hirohito? We have no idea. My guess is Japan got a pass because they surrendered without an invasion being needed and the immediate Cold War politics. Like you said it is likely we would have used them in Europe if available. In that scenario it is entirely possible some elements of the Nazi Government (maybe Hitler himself) would have been left in place to keep German society from collapsing and the Soviets out (Himmler tried to make that deal with the Allies as Berlin fell). That's why Hirohito and the Japanese monarchy was left in place. If the US had to invade and estimates were accurate, Japanese society and culture probably would have been given the same post war condemnation as Germany. They definitely would have if China was the occupying power. Germany required the Allies and Red Army to push across all of Europe up to Hitler's bunker which for the Red Army involved millions dead. Germany's defeat was deeply personal to 3 of the 4 powers occupying Germany, the occupation of Japan wasn't personal to US except for individual soldiers (my grandpa who was the Flying Tigers hated Japanese people til the day he died).
  14. The difference is Hunter is actively trying to not be a parent. If Hunter was even somewhat involved and didn't want the child in the limelight, completely his call. But him not being involved creates a void where the relationship is now between the mother and the Biden family. If that strains the relationship between Joe and Hunter, so be it, you prioritizes the welfare of the child in accordance with the only active parent's wishes. If the mother wants to stay out of the limelight, her call, but Hunter doesn't get to pull the parent card solely to make Thanksgiving less weird for himself.
  15. Should the kid have ice cream, sure. Pretend they don't exist, ehhh. Even if just publicly, it should be the mother's call since she's got custody.
  16. My guess is the industrial base to build them shrank since we stopped building them.
