  1. Dramatic scene Setting: A bustling political warroom. A nervous looking aide enters to adress our protagonists. "Mr. Baia, Mr. Vought I am afraid I have some bad news. After months of in-depth interviews and intensive polling we have determined that the average age of your fanbase is...." *Adjusts glasses and double checks page....* "....Died two years ago...."
  2. Doctor Who seems like the absolute worst of the new trend in streaming. It's hard to even get clear answers on what streams where, but from what I can tell you have to have no fewer than 3 separate streaming services if you want to actually catch up on the series before the new stuff starts. New stuff is only on Disney+, but D+ has nothing else. HBO Max has New Who(except the new release stuff) but not Classic Who. If you want Classic Who you also have to get Britbox. Which, to be fair, Britbox also has SOME New Who(I think...), but not all of it. Also none of the new releases! I have pretty much given up on watching Who until they figure this all out and I can actually watch everything all in one place again. Or at the very least, all of New Who. Out of all the disappointing realities of streaming in 2023 I think few are more so than missing the days when you could just load up Netflix and watch damn near all of Who from beginning to end.
  3. Yeah, while the Trump administration had a horrible record in court, and SCOTUS had little sympathy for his election stealing cases, we have every reason to believe SCOTUS will serve up plenty of home cooking for a second Trump term, especially early on. It is a testament to the depravity of the Trump years that so much happened that it is barely even mentioned anymore that SCOTUS ruled favorably on the Muslim ban and so we have a ruling from 2017 where they have to explain why their ruling looks a lot like Korematsu 2....but it's totally not Korematsu 2 guys, stop saying that!
  4. Beshear probably won comfortably in Kentucky on the coattails of his stance on abortion. While he admittedly also won before Dobbs his margin was quite a bit larger this time at 04% vs 5% this time(or a mere 5,000 vote lead vs. 67,000). Bevins also had unique problems that were specific to him that Cameron did not have this time around....and Beshear still outperformed himself. This was all in a state that Trump won by over 25%. Trump won Florida by 3.3% in 2020. For all the hype over Florida being the GOP's one bright spot in 2022, 3% is absolutely still swing state territory. I am not exactly popping the Champaign, but I see it as a possibility. Nearly every race/ballot measure since Dobbs has outperformed polls in terms of the pro-choice options. Biden, a staunchly pro-choice president vs. the guy who campaigned on and then installed the deciding votes for killing Roe? I honestly don't see why you think it is so outlandish.
  5. If I remember right he was basically the shifty anti-hero type that every show in the '10's had to have because Negan and Littlefinger were so popular. He wasn't particularly likable or his story particularly well done, so yeah I am not sure why to make a show after him. Honestly, with God's of the Arena existing and killing off most of the cast at the end of the show I am not sure there is too much meat left on the bone of this property to try to scrounge. And I say that as someone who enjoyed the show quite a bit.
  6. And he's equal parts so stupid and petty he gloats even when he's the loser. Like, If Gaetz were Ghollum he'd be flipping the double birds and trash talking Frodo on his way down to the lava....
  7. I am surprised he did it until 75. With his style of comedy it's a wonder he didn't have an aneurysm on stage 10 years ago.
  8. Man, that would be devastating to Republicans if they got it in Florida and that swung the state for Biden. Hard to imagine any scenario at this point where Dems win Florida but lose the election. To make matters worse for themselves.... 1. Florida is a state that relatively recently used such a measure to return voting rights to ex-felons, and the margin wasn't even that close. Not exactly an issue that is typically seen as a conservative staple. 2. This year DeSantis signed a 6 week ban into law. Something even DeSantis knew was so reprehensible that he did it in the dead of night with no fanfare. 3. While it has become less of a Purple state since Trump, it's still far less Red than some states that have already swung big on issues touching on abortion. Such as Kansas, Kentucky, and even Ohio. With the way that this issue has repeatedly surprised everyone with it's margin of support and staying power it does not seem out of reach that it could lift Biden the 3% that Trump beat him by in '20....
  9. I love that. How dare young people have a say in reproductive rights! Clearly old men and women who have already went through menopause are the only ones who should be deciding abortion law!
  10. Apparently there was a lot of buzz that Youngkin would use a big night of R victories in Virginia to slingshot himself as a late entrant into the Republican primary and perhaps even replace DeSantis amoung the big money, "anybody but Trump" donors. Guess that won't be happening It's crazy how polarization and electoral tricks have made the Republican party one that is so structurally unstable and yet also a coin flip away from winning complete control of the government.
  11. Even if it's not a direct analog, if Dems can win Gov races in Kentucky and Mississippi that..... doesn't seem great for the GOP......
  12. Maybe the quick and easiest way to demonstrate Trump's essential political nature as an authoritarian dictator is the casually insane ego masturbatory lies he tells about himself. You could change the names and it would be impossible to tell who was telling what lie between Trump's perfect election, Lil Kim's 38 under golf game, or Putin and his l33t hockey skills.
  13. Reading any streaming news nowadays is like being Sideshow Bob trying to negotiate a yard full of rakes. *Smack* Price increase! *Smack* New mandatory ads! *Smack* Shifting features to higher tiers! *Smack* Op, back to the price increase!
  14. MORE good news everyone! Futurama just got picked up for 2 additional seasons of 10 episodes each. This is on top of the already incoming 10 episode 12th season set for 2024. So at least 30 more episodes all told.
  15. As if DeSanitizer needed more dirt piled on his corpse campaign have you seen that now he is embroiled in Bootgate? Trump, Mr. 6'4 himself is bad enough, but Ronny is just kind of sad. It reminds me of that joke about how no one appreciates the value of rounding up like a 5'11 guy on Tinder. If a guy is in cowboy boots and CLAIMING 5'11 than he is 5'9 at most
  16. In today's episode of "Who you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?" Trump now denies he ever said that Mexico would pay for the wall. In fact, he is big mad that the lying media has the gall to claim he ever said such a thing! And in case you find your brain trying to justify his denial in an attempt to prevent itself from imploding from an embolism to escape the stupidity(well maybe sometimes he said one thing and sometimes he said the other....) no you are not remembering wrong.....
  17. So sad. He was always by far my favorite Friend. Sadly, it has been apparent for a while that the years weren't being kind to him. I know there was substance abuse problems, and you could tell.
  18. Plot twist: Turns out SaysWho was never Frightwolf at all. He just found out his secret and had to be eliminated.....
  19. "Mike Pence hangs...." *Intense cheering in Republican* "...up his gloves in the race for the Republican nomination for president." *Disappointed grumbles*
  20. Boy, his generic white guy looks ain't doing anything to shoot holes in this theory. When I saw the stock photo of him I suspected ChatGPT spat it out when someone typed in, show me the phrase, "Working hard or hardly working buddy?" if it were a person.....
  21. Annnnnnd Jenna Ellis is the next rat off the ship.... Do you think Trump's lawyers have had to explain to Trump yet that he can't get a plea deal in the case because he's the guy everyone else is getting deals to nail?
  22. I still remember a bonkers argument I had on this board probably almost a decade ago now. It was some bill or another that got passed with a bipartisan vote. And one of the conservatives that still posted here at the time insisted without shame or doubt or self awareness that the conservatives who went out of their way to keep X out of the bill now deserved a huge amount of credit for getting X done. It was like arguing with a funhouse mirror as he totally believed that something Dems were responsible for, and which they had to give concessions to get....was now something Republicans could take credit for because they ultimately voted for the bill. I always remember this argument in moments like this because Dems need to be aware that if they vote to support ANY Republican for Speaker they now own everything that Speaker does. For instance, as far as right wing talking points going forward they will have essentially endorsed the impeachment of Joe Biden.... I understand there might be political calculus to eventually supporting someone in some scenario, but they damn well better make sure it's worth it because Republicans will bludgeon them with every horrible thing they do from now until Nov. '24.
