  1. I am so checked out on current wrestling. Funny story, I saw this thread earlier today and realized WM was today and kind of shrugged it off. Then I saw Wrestling with Wregret put up a review of WM30 and I clicked on it and it was making me mildly interested in WM40 and I was thinking "hmmm, I wonder if there is some kind of week trial I could exploit to get WM for free". Then he mentioned that WM30 was right when the Network debuted and how different it is now because the Network doesn't exist anymore because it's a part of Peacock. That's when I realized I already have access to WM because I have a Peacock subscription. That's how checked out of current wrestling I am.....not only do I not watch the shows I flat out forgot I have access to their PPV every month
  2. The best thing about that is, if I remember right, they had to edit the bill a couple times because they realized the wording would stop actual, legit polluting done by businesses in the state. "Hey now, we are just trying to press on the fear centers of the brains of tinfoil hat wearing weirdos....we don't want to risk actually stopping hog farmers from spraying aerated pig shit into the air!!!" -Some Republican, probably
  3. Awesome, I definitely plan to pick up a copy next time I take a trip to the mall while listening to music on my Walkman and stop by the local Blockbuster.
  4. I mean, to me it seems like at this point it's like arming kids with uzis in a game of tag and then being a stickler for the no tag back rule. Trump tries to overthrow the government. The government in various outlets has charged him with nearly 100 felonies in a lead up to the election. I think at a certain time and place there is merit to the no charging a candidate rule, but haven't we long since burned that bridge/whistled past that graveyard/pick your own saying?
  5. It's going to be poetic justice if his efforts manages to land one or more of these trials smack dab in the middle of the election. Honestly, since the average memory span of major Trump scandals seems to be about 2 or 3 weeks for the public and media Trump probably would be better off just getting convicted now and have the appeals process going during the election rather than have it front of mind during the election. If someone had timed the Pussy tape a liiiiiitle better we might not have had this decade of hell to begin with.....
  6. Apparently he is resigning in a way that specifically will not allow a special election. Making votes harder on them for the next 9 months. This is an explicit "fuck you" to House Republicans.
  7. It was always a long shot, but I don't see how an appeals court grants him any kind of relief after that statement. Maybe if his lawyers come up with a firm plan and date on how they need a set time to complete a sale on a property to raise the money or something....but how do you get general relief when the guy is literally saying, "I got the money, but I just don't want to give it to ya!"
  8. I mean, I feel like as far as political cartoons go a little sign or something would have been good. Because if you know where it's located I feel like the first impression is....wait, why is the Statue of Liberty building a wall on the Canadian border.....
  9. I feel ya man. It's like it's one thing to mix up a name, but I can't even begin to follow the line of misfiring brain cells that leads to that fucking sentence. How do you get to Joe Biden "beating" Obama. A man who he never ran against except in 2008(when Obama beat him), is the SAME party as, and indeed served under him as his Vice fucking President for 8 years. It's like his aging mind is only able to hold a limited cast of main characters(Biden, Obama, Clinton, McCain, Pelosi, Pence, DeSantis etc.) but he has absolutely no interest(or perhaps ability) to put them in their proper places while he tells the same stories over and over again. I think maybe the most concerning one I have seen so far is when he was campaigning against Haley, was at an event specifically to talk about Haley, and yet he went on at length about how "she" was at fault for J6 because of the Capital police. An event that happened when Haley had been out of government for years. As I said, it is one thing to flub a name, but literally the only connection between what Trump was saying and reality was that it involved "an uppity woman who pissed me off....". It's not great when grandpa starts mixing up Uncle Steve and Uncle Ray's name. It's a whole 'nother level when he starts telling the story of how he and grandma met.....and it's actually the well known family story of how your mom and dad met....
  10. It feels like you really only need to see the headlines to know how Joe did. Republicans are so used to their own reality bubble that they have spent months gleefully telling a narrative about Biden. They committed one of the most basic, politics 101 blunders about "managing expectations" so all Joe had to do was go out there and basically not shit his pants and pretty much everyone looked around confused like, "Wait, this is the guy Republicans have been talking about? He seems fine...". And now Republicans, as they are wont to do, are absolutely FURIOUS that people are believing their own lying eyes instead of Fox News. The same will likely happen for the debates because Republicans have nothing left in their bag of tricks except going 100% intensity all the time to press on the nerve centers of their follower's lizard brains.
  11. Maybe I am overanalyzing here but it almost seems like Trump realizes that he fucked something up because of the reaction and after a quick mental check he thinks he gaffed "nuclear" so he took three shots at pronouncing it....
  12. Tens of thousands die because of the politics of gun control. Children drowning trying to cross the border. Hundreds of thousands die because masks and vaccines were exploited as a political tool. But all of a sudden politics is supposed to stop at the water's edge because of the unthinkable tragedy that a rich 60 year old white guy got cancer? The same guy who used those very issues to make millions by being the court jester for Y'all Qaeda? Nope.
  13. In some ways I think Keith was the blueprint for the modern day celebrity chud like how Limbaugh was the mold for the horrible modern right wing media.
  14. "Blah blah blah free market. Blah blah blah let the market decide." *Renewable energy becomes economically competitive* "Wait, no, not like that!"
  15. I like how they dressed Patrick up in old timey Football gear like he's Mr. Burns or something....
  16. It started yesterday on the 29th for me about 3pm right in the middle of watching a show. I had been hoping it would hold off until the first of the month....
  17. It almost seemed like Trump and Habba were so used to pulling the circus atmosphere bullshit in Engoron's court that by the time they recalibrated to Kaplan's more no nonsense style and the jury they had already lost Trump tens of millions in punitive damages alone and Habba nearly spent a night in jail pretty much solely because they couldn't shut their damn mouths
  18. Oh man, tell me that would not be the perfect end to the Trumpian era of politics. Him going around the country like Johnny Syphilis-seed starting outbreaks. And we get to see very serious news shows arguing about how infecting wide swaths of his electorate with an old timey prostitute disease actually helps him ellectorally....
  19. I think, "Merry Christmas, MAY THEY ALL ROT IN HELL!!!" sums up the character of the current Republican party pretty damn well.
  20. You know, I remember about 4 years ago in the lead up to the 2020 election I got a lot of scoffs from people, even some on this board, for saying that if Trump won he would almost certainly run for a third term in 2024. People were way too confident that something like the 22nd amendment would preclude him from running again. Seeing him steamroll the 14th amendment pretty much in exactly the way that I predicted the 22nd amendment would not stop a guy with 90% support in the Republican Party is a bummer to see I was probably right all along. Wade pointing out about the amendment not applying to primaries is the exactly the point I made about the 22nd. And Republicans are already leaning hard on the "the voters, not judges should decide on who runs for president" is another one pretty much word for word I brought up. And once Trump wins the nomination with overwhelming support, it will be hard for any court to seemingly strike down his candidacy(again, this would be true of the 22nd as much as the 14th). And it's not exactly a dead issue. If he wins in 2024, and he somehow makes it to 2028, I say there's a good chance he runs again. Edit: Oh, and by the way, mark my words SCOTUS will overrule this, but also not side with Trump on the presidential immunity thing and the mainstream media will laud it as a triumph of moderation and compromise. SCOTUS loves when Trump brings these absolute bonkers cases that even they can't side with because when they rule against him the media slobbers all over them for doing the bare minimum.
