  1. My city is the worst-hit spot in North America for B.1.1.7, with near-full lockdowns and still-rising cases, and I take possession of my house in two weeks and will need to have movers inside, people to hook up utilities, etc.
  2. I liked his tweet from a while ago where he said Daniel Craig might have different accents in each film, but the movies would never explain it.
  3. I agree. I think there is something morally wrong (and legally) about a 30-year-old sleeping with a 16-year-old (difference in life experience, brain development, wisdom of consent, manipulation, being evolutionarily sexually matured but not emotionally, etc), but it's also not the same as a 30-year-old sleeping with an 8-year-old.
  4. Wow, those are some big moves. I wonder what Johnson thinks. Probably doesn't care considering the payday he's going to have.
  5. Exactly. And you can have more than one train on the tracks. You could have a train that goes back and forth non-stop, and another that makes stops.
  6. No convictions for St Louis officers who beat Black undercover colleague at protest | US policing | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Officer Luther Hall, who was recording criminal activity during protests, required multiple surgeries after the attack
  7. The issue with any large-scale project in the US is that landowners have far too many rights to delay things. Some random guy with a shed in the desert could stop a maglev train project for years.
  8. EPA administrator Michael Regan dismissed Trump appointees on advisory panels, saying he wants to restore scientific integrity - The Washington Post WWW.WASHINGTONPOST.COM The Biden administration says it needs to restore trust in the agency by “resetting” membership on two key science advisory panels.
  9. The more I hear about how great this is, the more I need to settle with the fact that the GOP + Machin will kill it.
  10. Also, generally speaking, there are almost no differences in government regulations or intrusions into the lives of Canadians compared to Americans. If anything, our system actually makes it easier to take risks like starting or expanding a business. The data shows this, with income/class mobility in Canada being higher than the US. Both countries have intrusions that the other lacks. In Canada a large number of those involve how employers can treat employees (on the side of the employee). In the US, a large number of those involve how a woman can or can't control her body. Personally, if choosing which produces less stress, I'd choose Canada. I get the point sbl is making, but I think reality actually supports that the US has a lot of laws and rules that result in more government control than in Canada. Heck, just look at drug laws. There are going to be situations where one or the other is better, but both are pretty similar.
  11. Reasons to wear a mask, even if vaccinated: If your area still has a mask mandate (most places in North America, currently) If you don't want to cause anxiety in other people (who won't know you are vaccinated) That's it, and both are important and valid reasons.
  12. Honestly the most surprising part of this twist is that it was a 17-year-old girl. I just assumed it would have been his "son."
  13. You know, killing someone in a vehicle is the easiest type of murder to get away with. "A squirrel ran into the road and I swerved into the crowd. I didn't even see them!" Just joking, of course.
  14. Doesn't even include J&J, which will be providing 10 million doses from April-Aug, starting in about 4 weeks:
